Our moneys are earned by straight bets ... Parlays are to be played for bite size ... and once in a while a little sweetness comes our way.

Concentrate on the straight star plays - that's the bread and butter.

and please dont dilute your bankroll with cowboy stuff.

We throw in the parlays for a little extra excitement .. they are definite plays from our system but we just dont like laying more than -135 or 140 tops. So we take those hi line plays and make a small hook up with them.

Thanks for the response. I play pretty small and try to stick to your advice and frank's advice concerning money management. I'll just nibble on the parlays and stick to your star system (2% of my bankroll per star).

For Those Who Get Mad At Mesa/closers (including Myself Sometimes)

Over the past 5 years I believe, though not exactly sure of the span of this statistic, though it is at least 3 years,
IN 1 RUN GAMES, SAVES ARE ONLY MADE 47% OF THE TIME. THEREFOR, YOU ARE MORE LIKELY TO LOSE THE LEAD IN A ONE RUN SAVE SITUATION, THAN TO KEEP IT. Not something that's fun to think about, but it's the truth. Kolb cost me the other night after a brilliant Smoltz start on 1.5* play and it hurts, but it will happen to us at least 10 times over the season, if not many more. Don't remember the % for 2 run save situations, but not even 2/3 I believe, though someone could verify that if possible. Anyway, good luck and go HOU...
