This damn thing is HUGE and I do not know where to cut it ..

        Big Al.

3-2 yesterday, however his rated plays were 2-0. His opinion plays
are just small bets so speaking for myself, I cashed in bigtime.
        Hope he continues.

Wizzards 4*, Nuggets 3*, Rockets 3*, Tampa Bay 3*, the rest are
        opinions.

        saturday
Our 8 selections include the Nuggets, Celtics, Rockets, Wizards,
Devil Rays, Angels, the 'over' in the Reds/Brewers game, and the
'under' in the Devil Rays/Orioles game.

Denver -- At 10:30 pm, our selection is on Denver, as home teams are
23-5 ATS in Game 3 of Round 1 of the Playoffs if they're off a
straight up and ATS loss in Game 2, but covered the spread in Game 1
of the series. Take the Nuggets.

Boston -- At 8 pm, our selection is on the Boston Celtics as road
teams off a road loss of more than 20 points in the playoffs are 12-1
ATS in Round One if priced from -4 to +8 points. Take Boston.

Houston -- At 5:30 pm, our selection is on Houston, as home teams off
exactly one loss are 26-9 ATS in the Playoffs if they're not getting
4+ points in the game, their win percentage is between .494 and .670,
and they failed to cover the spread in their previous game. Take
        Houston.

Washington -- At 3 pm, our NBA Playoffs Game of the Month is on the
Washington Wizards, as Game 3 Home Favorites of more than 4 points
are a perfect 13-0 ATS since May 1992 off back to back SU/ATS losses
if their win percentage is less than .730. Take Washington.

Tampa Bay -- At 4:35 pm, our Big Ugly Dog of the Month is on Tampa
Bay, as this price is an overlay. Baltimore has certainly emerged as
a threat to win the World Series, but they're still batting 30 points
worse against lefties than righties, and scoring more than a run per
game less against southpaws. The Orioles also are under-performing at
Camden Yards this season, scoring just 3.9 runs per game, and batting
.248 (over 100 points less than on the road!) so we'll step in and
take the big price with Tampa Bay, who is scoring 5.1 runs per game
        vs. righties and batting .301.

Tampa/Baltimore 'under' -- At 4:35 pm our selection is on Tampa Bay
at Baltimore 'under' the total. For all of Sidney Ponson's problems,
both on and off the field, he is still a neccessity in the Orioles
rotation. If the Orioles are to compete for the Pennant (and right
now it looks as if they definitely can), they need a healthy and
focused Ponson. Health has not been an issue. Focus is another
matter. Although Sid's ERA is ugly so far he has a record of 3 - 1.
The fact that a starter on this team can have an ERA of almost
six-and-a-half runs per game and still be winning at a 75% clip is
indication of just how dangerous this Orioles lineup is. They are
scoring runs practically at will. Sid's poor runs average is a little
misleading as most of the damage came in one outing against this same
Devil Ray team down in Tampa on April 14. Since then, Ponson has
pitched brilliantly and has only given up only 5 runs in his last 15
innings pitched. Tampa Bay lefty Mark Hendrickson pitched very well
against this Baltimore squad last year. In five starts against the 0s
in 2004, Hendrickson only gave up a total of 13 earned runs and had 4
quality starts vs. one bad one. Counting Friday's 5 - 0 O's win,
these two teams have scored a total of 10 runs or less in 11 out of
their last 16 games against each other. Take the 'under' here.

Cincy/Milwaukee 'over' -- At 2:05 pm our selection is on Cincinnati
at Milwaukee 'over' the total. Wes Obermueller gets handed the ball
to start his first game this year, filling in for injured ace Ben
Sheets. Obermueller was a starter on this team last year and had a
bit of a rough time going 7 - 13 with an ERA of almost 5.4 runs per
game. Although his numbers as a reliever were very good so far this
year (1.74 ERA), relief numbers are generally worthless leading up to
an initial turn as a starter. 2004's starting stats are a much more
reliable gauge of how Obermueller is likely to fare. He certainly had
his problems against this Reds team last year going 1 - 2 with an ERA
of over 6.3 runs per game. Paul Wilson gets the call for the sixth
time this year for the Reds and although he has had three quality
starts out of his five so far, his overall numbers on the year are
not pretty. In 2004, Wilson pitched MUCH better at home than he did
on the road where his ERA was more than two-and-a-half runs higher
than it was at Great American Ballpark. There's of course one more
problem for the Brewers now that Obermueller gets the start. He won't
be available to come in from the bullpen, where he's been so
effective thus far. Take the 'over'.

Anaheim -- At 7:10 pm, our Major League Baseball False Favorite of
the Month is on the Anaheim Angels with Escobar over Minnesota and
Radke. The Twins have been installed as favorites of minus 1.15 over
the Angels, but that line is WAY OUT OF WHACK. Take a look at Radke's
numbers of late. Once the stalwart of Minnesota's staff, Radke has
fallen on hard times. In fact, he's LOST 8 STRAIGHT STARTS in games
Minnesota has failed to score 10 runs! Meanwhile, Escobar threw 6
shutout innings in his 2005 debut last Sunday (a 1-0 Anaheim win
which was a nice win for us with our ESPN Total of the Month). And in
the last 5 seasons, Escobar HAS NOT LOST to Minnesota, and his ERA
vs. the Twins in that span is 2.30 with a WHIP of 0.58 and a
strikeout to walk ratio of 16:1 -- so I can't imagine why Escobar has
been installed as a small underdog. Take Anaheim as our MLB False
Favorite of the Month. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie.
