Is it deja vu all over again? Not likely! The Mariners were horrible away from home last year at 25-55 and I cautioned in Friday's write-up that the team's three-game sweep in KC was NOT a sign that things were better! True to form, the Mariners have dropped the first two of this series (I've had the White Sox in the first two) and will fail again here. Gil Meche gets the start and he's off to an awful start in 2005! Two home starts have produced an ERA of 7.88 and now he's on the road vs the hot White Sox (8-3 start is the team's best since 1982!). Meche's road ERA the last two seasons has been 5.71 and 5.78 (talk about being CONSISTENT!). Garcia, a disappointment the last two years at 25-25 with his teams at 29-35) has been sharp in two outings so far, with an ERA of 1.93. He'd love to beat his ex-teammates and why shouldn't he? The White Sox swept Seattle last year in all six games played in Chicago and will open this year at 3-0 after another win on Sunday! AL Game of the Week 10* White Sox.
