  • What do you think, did I overdo it???

I decided today to cop the idea, i forgot who it was, of combining a few cappers cards today, with so many out there..
End result 35 plays total , 19 wins, 14 losses, 2 pushes, $500 total profit....thanks to hitting heavy Pacific and the 2nd half....
If not for 3 losses, W.Virg, N. Iowa and Marquette totalling 2.5 points, might have had a really big day, those 3 cost me a swing of over $1200.....
My question is, did I get carried away, play too many games... would I be better off doing one of the following things...
1)Following cappers who have 1 or 2 big pick but seem to win, like Lovedoc's checkup, smooth, Motor City, frankb, and hit that 1 or 2 picks hard..
2)Pick one of the many cappers who's been hot, like Wayne, or EZ, or shorty, or bhs, or Goldvike, or or RJeremy, who besides being hot has put up with my harrassment and gone out of his way to help me.....
3)Sign up with Goldvike's book and push the lines in games that i feel might need it or have had the lines move....
4)Keep doing what i've been doing and hope I get those 1/2 and 1 point swings.....
    5)Something else

Special thanks today to Wayne, Chuck, Shorty, Goldvike, frankb, Lovedoc, blake, the service fade crew, RJeremy for everything, anyone i'm leaving out, and anyone who took the time to listen and/or respond to me!

    Let's kick some ass tomorrow!!!
"That ain't working, that's the way you do it... get your money for nothing and your picks for free"

Well I would say with 35 plays you are pretty lucky to win anything. I have yet to see anyone making a lot of plays everyday and consistently win.........I would definitely lower what I am putting at risk in each betting session........

I see nothing wrong with playing 35 bets from the members at this forum. If a handful of BC cappers are consistantly winners what's wrong with playing all the picks. There are some very good cappers at this site.

What's the difference if you played 35 games in a day or 35 games in a week. Winning is the objective. I would play 35 service selectins. I wouldn't play 3 service selections.

That being said the only problem I have. If you are going to do it. Do it everyday. I know its lots of plays. BUT the cappers here WIN

Another point! On a Saturday in early December after capping the NBA I had 12 plays. I played them all. I bet 1/2 my normal amount. I went 10-2. On some Thursday's with only three games I might have 2 or 3 plays. The point I'm trying to make. I don't cherry pick my own plays. I play them all or I play none.

Gary as you know i LOVE action and i personally could not bet 1 or 2 games a day for alot of cash. Number 1 is that if you actually look at EVERY game you will like several of them and i would be in panic mode if i had a grand on one game. I think for me it's simple, make a profit at the end of the day. I do Saturday's for example in stages, i did 3 college posts and my objective was simply to make money whether it was a little or alot with each of those posts. If i bet 2 games for $500-$1,000 or something each i would be sick if i went 0-2 never mind the 2-0 chance. I like action and scoreboard watching.

The BIGGEST key when wagering alot of games is to have multiple options for lines. I have 4 books and a local and games like that Marquette wager never should have been a loss, when wagering alot on a daily basis shopping lines is VERY important in the long run!

Wayne, I agree. I'd rather play 10 games at $100 each than 2 games at $500. It's very easy to loss 2 games. The chances of losing 10 games is very slim.

I agree with Wayne if your going to play that many in a day. Shop around for the best lines. In the long run it should be some nice extra money. GL Hope it works out for you.

                      If your winning

Why change? Like Wayne said get more sportsbooks to get the best line, that's the key on some of those 1/2 point loses.
Enjoy the games, enjoy the forum, and most of all have alot of fun doing it!. If it's not fun and your not winning then change!
I'm always game for more action, the more the better. But that's my opinion, you have to develope a system that works for you.

gary it is good to shop the lines around at different books cause a half point or a point could cost u over 10,000 or more a yr in betting and that is if u r betting small i mean u have to look around u might still be winning but it will cost u big profits i have a friend all he does is play middle games at different books cause his bookie has way different lines then the offshore so he hits about every ten games he bets in all he only has to hit one in every 19 bets he has lost a couple books doing this but in long run he is way up me i dont have the cash flow to do it but wish i did cause basketball it is easier to do then any other sport line makers r always close he hit yester day on two games northerniowa and marquette
rjeremy for my accounts manager/i love how he keeps numbers

The EASIEST sport to middle if that's what you do is Arena Football. The Closing lines are usually 7-10 points different than the opening lines. You get some HUGE middles there and you can always tell when they come out which way they will go. Tell him to check into it!

                              For Wayne

                              Wayne

First of all let me say great job and thanks to you and many of the members mentioned in this thread. My strategy is similar to Gary's.I try and pick a few games in the morning and a few of the later games.I look at the selections from the top cappers on this site(Gary did a nice job of mentioning most of them) and try to find consensus while eliminating games where they disagree.I prefer to avoid the key match ups and TV games where the lines might be tighter.Or at least I'll bet less on those games.

I have a suggestion. It would be great if the top cappers would place their top play in the play of the day thread.I note that this thread is not used much and it woul be fun to follow RJ,EZ etc.etc.To see if they were to select one game on a given day what would it be?And how might the combined record be of the top cappers?

I would suggest 2 play of the day threads. One for the veterans that you would select and another for the rookies ,who may aspire to make it to the veteran thread given a record that is worthy.

I would also suggest that only the designated cappers be allowed to post on their respective threads to encourage a lively discussion between people who have earned the respect of others and actually know what the heck they are talking about.

I'm certain others are like me and often can't find the time to go through each thread and this would allow a quick look at what the top plays are from the "good guys".

                              My suggestions are humbly submitted.

PS I'm going to start my own top play, games that I love thread.Fade them all and you may retire shortly!!
