i think that spark or any other moderator can go ahead and delete it to clean up the board to minimize the clutter. Just my humble opinion

plays that are usually requested are always posted if they arent then probably nobody can get the pick so asking doesnt do any good. discussions about good and bad services are very helpfull but not at busy times.you could request a diferent service early and say why it would be helpfull.

The fact that Raven doesn't know what he is an example of is exactly why Spark is correct in not wanting requests. I see five different requests for JB cluttering up this thread. When someone has a service like JB, they'll post it. The reason people keep making duplicate requests is because they are too lazy to go back through the entire forum because it is cluttered with----you guessed it---duplicate requests.

and the only solution is not to have requests .. I would rather have discussions on services like THICK said then have requests .. Someone else said that you should be thankful of any service you get .. Not requesting more .. makes sense to me ..

FWIW - The requests as they are CURRENTLY being limited don't bother me but I side with Thick on the discussion issue.

Possibly the clearest approach would be to LIST the handicappers that are most asked for in a EARLY post by your spark and then as the plays are actually given out by contributors edit your ORIGINAL post referencing the post #.

This way a person could look at your original post to find the capper they just cant live without.

It represents a bit of work for YOU sparks but probably not a lot more than you are currently doing deleting.

My thoughts on Requests being allowed in the Service Play area are the same as they've always been...NO requests...

Simply saying/stating you can only make a request when you post a service play, I've seen some make a request, and post a service play that was posted befoe....Thats one way around that...

You can't say read before asking, we're dealing with human nature, and it hasn't worked before...The requests are redundant---constantly the same ones...SPARK you have enough to do...here's a suggestion for you...

When it's slow you state---Make requests now fellows---
Hold up on the requests for now fellows--etc...Violators can be monitored---play Billy Ball--3 mistakes and you're out...

I think the easiest way is NO REQUESTS...The guys that have the plays, generally put em in---if we could convince everyone to post their service plays--regardless of how un important they think they are---we'll have em all...

SPARK--great job you're doing, and love the way you solicit input from the members.....kaptain...no matter which way you go---you still have the element of dealing with Human Nature...

As far as request clutter goes, it could be kept way down by just using the "copy and paste" functions to construct a master list of your preferences as you scroll through the first time. Then, when you come back, start at your first unread post and add to your list as you go! That way, you'd never have to re-read or miss anything.

Kapt, as you know that is way I have been doing it .. asking to hold up and just post service plays at times.. I think that works good .. cooperation is great .. but when i say OK you can request .. Gee, same ones over and over ...

You are correct, it has not worked in the past and it will not work now asking them to read from post one ... The easiest way is to say NO REQUESTS ...

this area will never be perfect as someone said before and we are dealing with human beings also so the same thing will be happening over and over and to me seeing the same service plays posted over and over is just as much clutter as a request being posted over and over.
but we get over that part and say that is ok. but what is the difference?
I made my opinion i think pretty clear on how I feel when i posted my consensus earlier today, i know that what i want will not be eventually on what is going to be decided here today or tonight, and i am fine with that i can live with that also, and if i cant live with it i have a choice just liek everyone on here does i dont have to come here to get the plays or to share our plays.
i do my own handicapping and have my own service consensus that i have paid for and i share it with everyone and i ask nothing in return. well yes i did ask for something i want the conversation to stay and i dont condem people for requests though and i do not see the difference between duplicate requests and duplicate posts of the same plays. when i come to this forum i start from page 1 and read or look at every post on here everyday and i have my notebook that i write dow each and every play that i like and yes i spend one hell of a lot of time in here but that is my choice though , and i post duplicate service plays all the time and to me telling people not to requests the same services over and over sometimes to me is the same as saying we need to not clutter up the forum posting the same services over and over but we all accept the posting of the same services over and over, why?
because we are the ones posting them and i know for me to delete duplicate services over and over woudl be hell, but im sure that for someone who is on here just to get service plays and not pos tthem im sure he/she doesnt like to see the same service posted over and over either but they put up with it to get what they want.
there will always be clutter unless u take the human element out of it , and i do not think that will happen , hell all this shit i am writing write now is costing me time and clutter also.
so this will be my last post or input on this as as of now i do not really care what happens here all you guys that have all the answers you guys and can decide what will happen in this thread im just a bystander here and am liek the majority here i will keep my mouth shut for now on and do what everyone else does or most of the peopel do here i will live with the final decision like it or not and thats the bottom line so spark do whatever the heck you want to do as i dont relaly care anymore.
