Let's see. Where do we start...............

Can't say enough about the Patriots. The team has played just about perfect football in the playoffs, and for that matter, most of the year. They are a team that simply doesn't make mistakes and capitalizes on their opponents mistakes. Belichick and Brady simply don't lose in the post season.

But let's not dismiss the Eagles just yet. We've been on the Eagles all thru these playoffs and with good reason. The Eagles only lost only one game that counted all year long and that was the week they failed to show up in Pittsburgh. (we can toss that game as well, because guess what? The Pats also lost to the Steelers the following week) Not only did they win all of their other games (throwing out the final two) that mattered, they DOMINATED, winning 11 of their 15 wins by 10 points or more. As a matter of fact, the Eagles clinched the NFC east with a win over the Giants back on NOVEMBER 28TH, so you can really discount their final 5 regular season games, as even though they didn't have home field sewn up, you could excuse them for the let down in their wins over the Redskins and Cowboys. In looking at all games prior to the clinch, there were only two games they didn't win by more than 10.

One thing that's bothered us about playing the Eagles this week is the possibility of Philly just being satisfied with getting over the hump and finally winning the NFC Championship. A case can easily be made for the Pats blowing the Eagles out of Jacksonville this week. After all, for the Pats, this is just another business trip. Their season won't be a success unless they win the Super Bowl. The Eagles on the other hand, their season is already a success with their NFC crown. The Super Bowl would just be gravy.

Will the Eagles be happy just to be there?

We've seen it plenty of times before. Particularly in those years where there has been a week off between Championship games and the Super Bowl. One team fails to make the adjustment, and can't deal with being under the spotlight for two weeks while for the other, it's business as usual.

But if you take a look at past Super Bowl blowouts, it wasn't necessarily one team failing to adjust. That was part of it, but generally speaking, in those games there was already a huge talent gap between the two teams. Failing to adjust just added to the misery. Recently, Tampa over Oakland comes to mind. Going back several years, SF over SD, Dallas over Buffalo twice, Washington over Buffalo, San Fran over Denver, Washington and the Giants over Denver and so on. In all of those games, you weren't getting the best two teams in the NFL, but rather the best teams from each conference, and in all of those games, there was a rather large gap in the talent between the teams.

That's not the case this year. What we have here is exactly what we should have.........the two best teams in the NFL facing off for all the marbles.

Forget about Philly just being happy to be there. Were the Panthers just happy to be there last year? Did they forget to show up?

Sure the Pats have won two of the last three Super Bowls. But they also won both of those games AS TIME EXPIRED with Vinatieri field goals.

There is no talent gap between these two teams. BOTH of these teams are the real deal and both deserve to be here. We've seen nothing from the Eagles all year that would indicate there's any chance of them being blown out here. Quite the opposite actually. They have done nothing but win, and win big.

Our number on this game is PICK. That's a 7 point edge working for us with the EAGLES and just to put that into perspective, rarely do we end up with a 7 point gap between our number and the posted line over the course of an NFL season. A 3 or 4 point difference would generally warrant a best bet. Not only do we have a 7 point edge, but providing you can get +7.5 by game time, you have FOUR key numbers working for you in the 3,4, 6 and 7!

Sportsbetting is a long term proposition. In the above scenario, taking the +7.5 when your number is pick, and having the 4 key numbers working for you, YOU WILL SHOW A PROFIT and probably win that wager at least 56% of the time, probably closer to 60%.

The Eagles are the right side in this game.
