Finally Going To Vegas!!!!

All of you oldies have been and back, finally it is my time!!

Just booked today--

Sun. March 20th-Th. March 24th!!!

Staying at the New York, New York, next door to MGM!!

Me and 6 friends are going for Spring Break, my last one until I graduate.

Got a deal with roundtrip, nonstop air, 4 nights at NYNY and free transfers to hotel and airport for 450 a person!!! (gotta love southwest!)

Ive wanted to go to Vegas for years and now is the time.

It will be between the first 2 rounds and 16/8 rounds of the tourney.

Any tips, ideas, hot spots, etc??

Transfers may drive you nuts but there is no better time to be out there than tournament time (IMO)! I've gone every year for the first round since I turned 21 and it will be my 8th year this March!

I'll have to add the piano bar to my list this year

just sit in the sportsbook with your "winning" tickets and drink away the pain!!
Since you'll be between rounds, guess your gonna have to bet NBA, but have fun in the sun!!
should check out the beach, and the voodoo lounge in the rio, witchdoctor is the drink there!!

My best advice to you would be to play small when you first get there and see the sites(bars and joints--there all great) you dont want to be broke walking around vegas. Save your big plays the night before you leave. Good luck I plan on being there March 24-27

Aplous - I just came back from Vegas and it was fantastic . NYNY is on my favorite part of the Strip , I either stay there or next door at the Monte Carlo . MC , has an alright Sports Book but they're stingy on the Slots ( most joints are ) you may what to play table games though . If you play slots at MC play the Wheel of Fortune .25 machines on the wall as you walk in coming from NYNY off the Strip .
At NYNY machines not that great either BUT you can go to the ESPN Zone , conviently location right next to the Sports Book ( take your notebook/ laptop ) play RJ's plays and hope he's on a roll ( could pay for your trip ). Down the street is Mandalay Bay haven't done much gaming there , but they have The House of Blues , usually have good acts there ( Snoop Dogg ) was there when I went . Check their website for upcoming Bands .
Across the street at MGM ya gotta try $10, on the slots w/the 2005 Dodge Viper RT/10 sweet ride , the Buffet at MGM is a little pricey at $24 but , damn well worth it ! If you have never seen a Cirque du Soleil show "KA" at MGM is one amazing , excellent show , pop the bucks and thank me later !! Also on the restroom wall between the Buffet and where you turn the corner to go to the S. Book is a bank of W of Fortune .50 machines the 2 on the left had some good payouts $200-$300 while I was there ( I hit for $250 ) paid for the Cirque show for myself and wifie .And finally the young folks place IZ the Palms , off the strip, but cool , close to the Rio ! Rio has a rockin' dance club usually a line to get in and at The Palms you'll want to go to the Ghost Bar and Rain fine young babes . at the other end of the Strip is Wynn's new Casino , looks interesting but we didn't get by there this trip . If you go , let me know how it is .... Also, if your a Star Trek fan The Hilton has some Trekkie interactive show that is suppose to be good . Have a great time ... do all you can , after all when will you get back to Vegas !! GL brother.....

And if you like seafood, try the Rio Seafood Buffet. Last time I was there (a few years ago) it was the best in town, so it may have changed but ask around.

i have never been so disappointed at the forum as i am right now.,....this kid on on spring break and this is the vegas advice he is getting?? i mean, Ldawg, good work, totally agree about the piano bar like 10dime said,.........

First, no matter what we say about the gambling, you are going to do what the alcohol and other things dictate.......i can give you the 'dont bring more than you are willing to lose' speeches, but you already know that advice.......

foodwise, all the breakfast buffets are good and there is no reason to go to expensive nice restaraunts, you can do that when you are home, it is the same

However, 6 college kids--------->go to studio 54 in mgm grand, a little cheesier than you may like, but your likelihood of hooking up a better than at most bars, just go on the dance floor and you have at least an outside shot of hooking up there even if your friends cant even hook up in a morgue.........both rum jungle and house of blues in manadaly bay are cool although rum jungle gets a little crowded........dont waste your time going to light in the bellagio and for late night, dre's at the barbary coast is a good time........depending on how much money you have, you should never have to wait in line if you are with 5 people; you walk up to the front of the line, gather $20 each from your friends, give the bouncer between $50-$100 and you will get in anywhere , anywhere...........do not be afraid to walk up to the bouncers and offer them money to let you in, they like that

strip clubs are cool, be careful of taxi cab driver schemes....do not buy anything the taxi guy tries to sell you because he not giving you anything you cannot do yourself........would not be a bad idea when in any taxi to say you have been there before to avoid most taxi driver schemes.........however, some taxi driver schemes involve him giving you and your friends the name of an escort who "will be at your room in 20 minutes".....that is your call, but know that if you give any whore your number , she will call it 100 times until she knows you are gone

lastly, when you are walking between hotel and hotel, there will be 300 guys from 3rd world countries handing you little pictures with hot girls on it, 15% of the time, the girl looks like the girl on the card, the other 85% , they dont........if hookers interest any of you, just hang around any casino late at night and look for girls with cell phones or one piece's, chances are if you make eye contact with a girl in vegas and it is 2 a.m, and she looks back, she is a hooker, not some cute coed

truthfully, at your age, you are better off trying to exhaust all avenues of going out at hooking-up at the bars before exploring the hooker route.....now that is how we are supposed to answer his question!
