HOUSTON BOWL
Holy UTEP Miners batman!!! Can you believe the job HC Mike Price did with this program? I can?t, but they were an incredible story in 2004 and the only fitting ending would be a bowl win over a BCS conference school. Colorado will have no interest in this game whatsoever as they already played their Bowl game in the Big 12 Championship and got creamed. Now they get to play a school from El Paso, Texas in Houston of all places. My hat still goes off to HC Barnett for the way he rebounded from his turmoil ridden off-season, but I just can?t foresee him being able to get his squad up to play a squad like UTEP. The Miners on the other hand will be stoked for this match-up. They?re the hotter team coming into this game winning seven of their L/8 games SU, and they went an impressive 7-3 ATS on the year. I?m well aware of the major difference in the strength of each of these teams respective conferences, but I?ve got a feeling the Miners offense will be able to score at will on the Buffaloes ?D?. It averaged 386 total YPG & a solid 376 PPG in the pass happy WAC, and should be able to keep Colorado?s ?D? on its heels with a potent rushing attack. Statistically, the Buffs ?D? is worse off then UTEP?s, but schedule strength has to be taken into consideration there once again. However, the momentum UTEP?s carrying into this game will be just enough to get them over the top in this spot. HC Price is very familiar with going up against premier football programs, and he?ll have his kids ready. Look for UTEP to pull off the SU upset!!!
