The officials are NOT from the WAC, they are a Pac-10 officiating crew. Not sure if this changes anyone's mind on the game but just thought that's a little tidbit some people might want to know!

Hawaii –3.5 vs. Alabama-Birmingham: This is already a strong pick to begin with, but…. if WAC officials are refereeing this game, go ahead and load up your children’s education fund on the Rainbows. If you don’t think home cookin’ takes on a different meaning in the islands, go ask their last dozen non-conference opponents what they think. Better yet, go look at the penalty yard discrepancies. It’s almost criminal. In any case, Hawaii will ring up close to 50, as 9th year QB Timmah Chang will pad his already unreachable career passing stats against a very vulnerable Alabama-Birmingham secondary. HAWAII -3½ vs Alabama Bummingham- Sure, the Blazers are fired up about their first-ever bowl game, but the jerry rigging in Honolulu has gotten waaaaay out of control. Officials called to service the Rainbows have unending ties to the program, and tend to let the majority(ok, all) of the calls go the way of the home team… Even if the bowl ships in neutral officials, that crack-smoking mascot will scare them into swaying towards the locals… Chang throws all day, not even close…
