Post your rules for gambling...... I will start......Illjaunt

    1. Don't chase
    2. Don't bet on a good team covering the second half if they didn't cover the first or look like they are going to cover the game. (especially in cbb)
    3. If you lose 3 games in one day take the rest of the day off(there is always tomorrow)

My prime rule is play teasers in any sport very sparingly(if at all) and as a very small portion of your bankroll.
The number of people who can say with a straight face that they are ahead in these over a significant period of time is VERY small.
I don't care how people try to defend them;they are a losing proposition over time;ask any bookie or any longterm gambler who has tried betting these over an extended period of time especially if it their main type of bet.
I myself play them for fun only when I am having a good week and as about a 1/4 unit.

Violation of this rule is why 99% of gamblers who start in their 20's are finished gambling before they reach their thirties.

When something in gambling seems too good to be true, it usually is.

When 90% of a forum's members are on one side of a game, don't go large on that game.

When you hit an extended losing streak, take a couple days off, and i mean COMPLETELY off!

I used to be an advocate that members posting their records. I no longer feel that way. It is not easy posting games. When I posted I took it harder letting others down than I did losing money.

Most newbies come to this site looking for free service selections. After a short period of time they realize 99% of the services are BS. Next they turn to the BC cappers. They'll follow a capper for a day or two. Once they have a losing day they'll be following another capper. It's a vicious cycle. MOST gamblers don't know how to accept the losses. They don’t realize a very successful capper will lose 44% of their wagers.

The unfortunate reality! The overwhelming majority of gamblers are LOSERS. That comment might insult some. But it's reality. Gamblers lack discipline. They are looking for the quick easy score. They lack self-confidence. They don't have the confidence to cap their own games. That’s why they look for other cappers selection. They have a scapegoat when they lose. They don’t have to look at themselves as failures.

The worst violation of all! Money management. I’ve seen it too many times. A player gets down. They get desperate. They look for one play to get even. Read this forum on Sunday's, members looking for the NFL Sunday night game or late NBA bailout games. Then they unload. Another common occurrence is the opposite. The player is up. They get greedy or they become undisciplined. They bet on games they might have normally passed, looking for action. After a success in the early games they increase their bet amounts in the later games. Giving back too much what they’ve earned earlier.

Here’s a list of rules EVERYONE should adhere to:

                1. Money Management. Most of the player’s wagers should be 2% of bankroll. No wager should EVER exceed 5%.

                2. Cap your own games. Once you start capping your own games you’ll learn from your capping mistakes. You’ll become better cappers. Probably not winning cappers but better.

                3. Forget ALL paid cappers. I know some members object to that statement. If a player insists on using a ‘pro’ capper then pay the capper for their services. Don’t come here looking for the plays for free. If you’ll risk you’re hard earned dollars on someone’s selections then pay that capper for their service. I'm certain that 99% of the cappers clients will be turned off by the services between paying them and losing your wagers. Play that cappers game everyday. If they lose a few days in a row cut back your wager amounts. DON’T increase them. Increase your wager amount when the capper is on a run. Even the worst cappers get hot.

                4. If you play any BC capper selections find one or two and play their games everyday. Don’t bounce from BC capper to BC capper. Same as with the paid services. Stick with that capper through the bad times.

                5. Don’t jump to capper C then capper D because they are hot. Too often when it becomes noted that a capper is hot they have started their decline.

                6. Resist the temptation to play other BC cappers and pro cappers games when they have a big play. I've seen far too many GOY type games burn the cash. Many BC cappers, that I have much respect, lose their big plays. Too many members bet much more than their normal amount because a capper has a GOY type play.

                7. Whether you cap your own games or play the selections of another make all your bets at the same time. Once all your bets are made THAT’S IT. Don’t bet any more games or anymore $$$ on a game you’ve already played. My only exception to this rule is I’m waiting for a line movement. I know what game I’m betting and how much. After money management IMO this is my most important rule.

                8. Learn to recognize you're winning streaks and losing streak. All players will have them. When you get on a roll increase your wage amount. SLIGHTLY! After a few losing days cut back the amounts bet until you have a few winning days.

                9. Money management! Money Management! And Money management. Money management is the simplest yet the most difficult. It’s mostly about discipline. Establish a bankroll. Keep track as that bankroll fluctuates. Bet accordingly. DON'T GET GREEDY!

That being said most gamblers break all the rules. That is why 95% of gamblers lose. I've broken every rule above. I fight the demons every day not to break any rules.

Savage, as I'm sure you are aware I agree 110%. They are suckers bet. It's hard enough picking one winner let alone 2 or 3. I've never played a teaser in basketball and I never will. Too much scoring.

I have one other rule. It only applies to me and my personality.

I hardly ever watch the games I bet especially in basketball. Too much aggravation is the primary reason. I think some gamblers get emotional over their bets. They take losing a wager personally and insist it was solid capping and chase that team. I see that often with baseball.

The opposite also happens. The player is pissed by the way their team lost their wager and regardless of their next game or situation they play against the team.

Jumping around is the kiss of death.

My advice do some research. It'll take some work. Pick a few cappers. EZ, Jeremy, 3Wisemen, Homer, Wayne, spaarkie. Too many to name them all.

Go back and rate their plays for the past 30 days or so. Then decide. If you don't want to do that work. Follow each for about a week or two. If you play during that period do so very small.

Find a cappers that suits your needs. I prefer cappers that don't have many selections and rate their games simple.

That is probably the most intelligent post I have ever seen on any posting forum. Great advise and well thought out. Keep up the good work.

                              My rules no particular order:

                              1. Bet with your head not over it.

                              2. If your losing on the day step away. Betting scared money is lost money ask any gambler.

                              3. Dont change your play, win or lose if you cap it one way and someone is on the other side just play it out.

                              4. Never bet your entire bankroll on any 1 game. Regardless of how good you or anyone feels about a game. In the long run somewhere along the line you'll be left with nothing.

                              5. Gambling is a 24/7 365 day a year saga, it never ends. It doesnt end to you decide its over. Keep your head on your shoulders.

                              6. If you have access to may lines ie offshore books, shop lines, its important to get the best value for your $$$, and you need every advantage you can get.

                              7. If a line looks too good to be true 90% of the time it is.

                              8. Dont buy points!!!!! If buying points was to your advantage it wouldnt be an option. Trust ME!

                              9. Dont play parleys & teasers. In the long run most times you cannot and will not win. For ever person that wins there's 10 more who lose.

                              10. Never buy into hype. IE tv,radio, etc. Big games on national TV are often the tightest lines out there. Just cause its a big game doesnt mean you have to put your hard earned cash on it. The object of is to win and make money. It doesnt matter what you wager on as long as you come out ahead at the end of the day.
