I was under the impression that if I had a standing room ticket, I would enter any gate and just crouch down in an aisle for example or stand maybe where they sell the concessions.
I thought that as long as I wasn't blocking anyone else, I could stand or sit where I wanted.
I certainly don't want to go if I can't get a clear look at the park and especially the pitcher and batter.
They have limited areas in the park where standing room only seats are available. Not the entire park. RF Roof, Green Monster seats area and i believe some place in the grandstand area, not sure about that one.

I was told by him that there were designated spots. If they let you in the aisle that would cause major problems with tripping, vendors and so on. The don't let you go free in all the aisle's behind seats either cause everyone would pile in a few spots and block everything. They have certain sections and they estimate about how many people at each and come up with an amount of sro's available. I think you can bounce around to different sro spots but if you keep moving you will be in the back of every one of those sections. My buddy was very tired and disappointed with them.

        savage1,

Dont know if your aware of the seating at fenway. Here is what will typically be available out on the streets for a reasonable $$$ depending on time of course.

        Section 34 - 43 Bleacher
Section 87 - 97 RF box (near Right field foul poll)
section 6 - 10 Outfield Grandstand (upper seating)
        Section 11- 31 infield grandstand
Section 32 - 33 LF grand stand (upper seating)

FYI-Loge and field box seats are next to impossible to get, if someone is offering these tix be warry of them. Stick with the above they will be out there available for your price I'm sure of it but timing is everything. Dont buy to early.

Wayne and 10Dime -thanks for your invaluable advice and hints.
I can see it now-I go down to Fenway early morning next saturday if there is a possible clinching game, hang around all day, bet some football games, keep track of the scores on my pager ,etc.; it sounds like fun and a little adventure.
I think if I am having a good day with the games, I might be willing to go a little higher than $300;if I lose, well limit is still around $300.

          :D

Wayne-I have a curiosity question for you-again no right or wrong answer.
If your net worth right now was right around $1 million(I assume it is not), would you pay the $16000+ asked for two real good tickets for a total of $32000 for game 7, or would you keep it at $1500 or so for each ticket or settle somewhere in between? Just curious.

If i were a millionaire i would be sitting behing the Sox dugout!

It is really based on what you can afford. If you have the money and it's not going to do anything but lessen a banking account than i say go for it. Think of the money alot of people take to their grave. It sounds awful but it's true, spend it on something you might never be able to do or see again. It's just my opinion. The funny thing is the people i talk to. The ones with more money say it's not a bad price. The others tell me i'm crazy!

                wayne,

Your right, if you have alot of $$$ to just spend freely then I say sure pay top dollar thats definatly the way to go. I only go about it at a lesser price because I am not rich. I mean I'm not poor by any stretch but not the donald either...lol. We all choose to spend our $$$ differently. For me when going to a sporting event for example NY Giants football games this year, every seat is solid out for the year. I typically leave the wife at home because she only follows baseball and go with a few friends. We tailgate dont have tickets and wait til about 12:30-12:45 then start walking towards the stadium. Start asking for tickets and with in minutes we have litterally dozens of offers for lower level tickets at or below face value. I know the WS is much different but I'm telling you waiting til the last minute is the best way to go, been doing it 10+ years at countless major sports events and havent been shut out yet. Most people like the security of having a seat before gametime I can totally understand that, but all I'm saying is that if your going to the game w/o tix then wait wait wait. Wayne enjoy the game. Although I'm hoping there isnt one.

Wayne and 10 Dime-thanks for responses.
As stated, it comes down to value and what REALLY makes you feel good about yourself(like anything else in life).
I persoanlly wouldn't pay the $16000 per ticket or anything close to that under any conditions as a matter of principle, but thats me.
