Maybe this is going to far, but on Sox Chatboard, they are referring to A-Rod as A-Fraud.

        A-Rod Career Numbers

        .305 avg 1121 Runs 1707 Hits 381 HR 1096 RBI's

        This is in 8.83 seasons

That comes out to averages of

        43 Hr's 127 Runs 193 Hits 124 RBI's per year & .300 + batting average

        And the guy's only 29

If he plays another 10 years and can keep up the above pace his numbers would be as follows for his career:

        811 Hr's 2391 Runs 3637 Hits 2336 RBI's

Which would definately qualify him as 1 of the best ballplayers ever if not the best. Now don't get me wrong as I don't think he can keep this pace up for another 10 years as you have injuries etc. And I also think the best player ever was Babe Ruth as well as doing the most for the game. However, my point is that anyone that states he's a fraud, no good etc, obviously just doesn't like him or doesn't know much about the game.

Couldn't agree more. I don't care what the hell he does in the regular season, the fact is that he and sheff disappeared when the Yanks needed them most.

He may be a great individual player, but so far has not shown any ability with any team to lift them to a higher position in the standings than they were without him.
There are many intangibles required besides what one does on the field to become known as a great player, and for my money I have not yet seen these with A-Rod.

COULDN'T AGREE MORE! He may have better stats then Jeter but Jeter is a leader and a winner. Hopefully, A-Rod will develop that.

He's also compiled a lot of his strong numbers on sh*t teams with no support.

                  Also,
he didn't spit at an ump, beat up his wife or kids, abandone a child of his, have sex with a underage kid, throw a bottle at a fan, use a corked bat and say he didn't, use illegal breast enlarging agents to enhance his abilities, witness the murder of another individual and do nothing about it, put a bounty on another players head, sit out the last four tenth seconds of a playoff game, gamble on his own team, retire repeatedly, or say........try to sell drugs or do them.

The only thing he's done is cost me some money. For this he should be shot in the kneecaps.:eek:and made to pay me 100,000 for my pain and suffering over the last two games.

He is a very good player overall but not worth ANYWHERE near what he is paid;I would not trade David Ortiz for ARod straight up thats for sure.

I am not a A-Rod or a Yankee fan. However:

What short memory sports fans have. The guy was willing to take a salary cut to join the Red Sox. It was the players union that nixed the trade.

IMO he still one of the more talented players in baseball. He moved from SS to play third. He did it flawlessly.

Not so fast my friend. No short memory here, PAY-Rod was willing to take a paycut because he already backed the truck up to his vault and deposited $50 + million to his bank. Money matters not to PAY-ROD. He's already got the $$$$ He could give up his current salary and play for chewing gum and he's still set for life. Great player yes, great guy NO WAY.

What do you guys expect him to do when it comes to a salary? Do you expect him to say no I won't take 24 Million a year just give me 12 million? If a team is willing to pay a player that much then so be it.
