It's only 1 game but obviously foolish to lay wood with an injured pitcher at Yankee Stadium of all place. They sure kept the injury quiet but Schilling was throwng 8-10 MPH slower.

Sorry about the loss. I thought you were on the right side. Even with Schilling hurt, you still have one of the best post season pictures going. This game was the game Boston went out and got Schilling for.

Agree with WIZ, NY may have won game 1 but thought Boston got the upper hand in the fight with that huge comeback. Rest of NY's pitching staff sucks at best, and NY bats are inconsistent. BTW I can't stand the Red Sox before all you Yankee lovers start ripping into me.

Thanks Statsman .... I took a stand and lost a wager ... looking back at my origional post I realize that I was emotional . I broke MY CARDINAL RULE . I'm not supposed to have any feelings with this stuff. For someone who doesn't get involved liking or disliking teams and players I sure didn't show it.

I analyzed that game like some schoolboy - adoring Schilling and bad mouthing Mussina ... that must NEVER happen when handicapping.

Boston was the wrong side. Boston lost. The right side is the side that wins money for a bettor. It's that simple.

Funny how some of us can make good money on a particular sport ... say college basketball ... and not know the name of a single player. I don't know one. I don't want to , either. But last night it seemed like these guys knew me and I knew them .

The loss is a shot in the arm for me and will earn me money in the future. It serves as a helpful reminder - NEVER GET INVOLVED ... 99% of the time I don't. Athletes mean nothing to me and I mean nothing to them. ( LOL )

It's all about power ratings... cold and hard. The rest is meaningless gossip.
