  • Im retiring from GAMBLING

Ive turned the page in my life and from today on I will never again place another wager of any sorts in the forseeable future

I will continue to be a member of the forum as a hobby but I can no longer gamble...........Im getting engaged on Saturday and I have to fill my time with less draining hobbies (mental and financial)

Its been a great 13 years (Im only 26) but its time to stop.......I make 2 much money by my own standards to continue to piss it away on meaningless things

If I post plays in the future they will be for strictly ENTERTAINMENT PURPOSES ONLY.........or PLAY MONEY

    All the best

    PEACE

Wow! More power to you. I wish I had your strength. I need to do the same things, and for the exact same reasons. Good luck trying to go "cold turkey".

Whatever you do, do as you see fit for your self and future family..Once you're married, then Children, your life no longer belongs to your self, you have to share with others--Wife--Kids--In-laws, etc...

From what I've seen and read here, you should have no problem, as you have always been a "Class Act"--and always shared with others....Your reasons are yours, and I mean that, YOURS...Thats what you have to live with...I'm personaly am sorry to hear it, Your input--picks--Humor will be missed on a regular basis...

Pop in time to time---let us know how its going...Wish you the best in whatever you endeavor....

PS: You're welcome on the Old Kaptains ship for a cruise anytime:D

Take the above statements made by me as , true to be, I raised 6 Sons...

yeah damn sure takes alot of time.
to bad we dont get our hourly wage while we do sports also
if everyone does it as much as i do we would all be rich, but i love the handicapping and trying to produce winners just about as much as the winning part of it, but i liek money also , but it is to me a hell of a high when you can produce when the pressure is on or maybe give someone some winners and just do well predicting the winners.
but still its alot of work and i have gave it up a few times because of the time and effort i put into it but i come back because i just love to handicap sometimes i do not even gamble on the games for months at a time i just enter handicapping contests. but i also know when its time ill probably call it quits as you are doing, im in a serious relationship also but reason i have so much time is she works full time and is going thru her internship full time also so hell i dont have anythign else to do when i am not work.
and like i siad this is probably what i woudl love to do if was possible , actually did for a while when i was in high school but didnt have the capital to get in good with it.

gl to you and wish you the best in everything.

Im still gonna be around since SPORTS will always be my #1 hobby........I dont know how and when I changed from a 50 and hundred dollar gambler to these bigger amounts (prolly the more I made the more I laid) but its gotten to be mentally stressfull........I wish I could still play for 50 and 100 get the same enjoyment but I cant.....maybe a few years from now after I distance myself from wagering I can enjoy making wagers for the heck of it but at this point I kinda need to REHAB myself

I have some excellent basketball systems that are proven year in and year out and an NCAAB system that I hit last year that produces winners in conference play at a wicked rate that I will continue to share and hopefully teach others because its a very unique system that is so easy its scary

                    PEACE

MCP, we must have been seperated at birth. These are the same conversations I have been having w/ my friends. I big week for me use to be $200-$300. Now it is 10x's that on the + or -. I'm not sure when this happened, or how. It has become stressfull and really affects my mood and attitude towards others. It has affected my life more than it should. I am going through the same things you have, even the fiance part. Wierd.

I can relate. I stopped gambling for almost 10 years. Mostly because I started a family. There were more important issues in my life then capping games and sweating through scores.

I only re-started playing about a year ago. My kids are growing up. It is more like a hobby now. My unit play is about 1/10 of what it was years ago. Now if I go 0-5 I'm not wondering where I'm gonna get the money to pay my bills.

Most night, I don't check the game scores until all east coast games are over, around 10pm. Often, I don't check scores until the next morning.

                            Congrats and GL!
