Another 4* Winner here yesterday and this is our 4* for Monday's action.
Minnesota travels to Texas and they will send Santana to the mound to face Rogers tonite. Santana is 11-2 (1.90 era) his last 14 starts and the Twins have won 5 of 6 of his road starts. Texas is 8-1 in Rogers starts at home winning his last 5 in a row. Santana is 10-5 under his last 15 while Texas is 7-2 under their last 9 home games. Rogers is 4-1 under his last 5 starts. There is no hotter pitcher in MLB than Johan Santana. He was 2-3 after the first two months of the season, but has won 11 of his last 13 decisions. He's 6-0 in his last seven starts with a 1.82 ERA and a .160 BAA and he's 6-1 at night with a 3.44 ERA and 5-2 on the road with a 3.44 ERA. Meanwhile, Kenny Rogers has a 5.53 ERA since the All-Star break with a .352 BAA. The Twins have won six of seven all against opponents playing .500 ball. St. Louis at Kansas City

KC head coach Dick Vermeil says his starting offense will play more against St. Louis than in its season-opening loss 34-24 loss at New York. In that contest, QB Trent Green completed seven-of-11 passes for 111 yards and a touchdown in three series, while RB Priest Holmes rushed for 24 yards on two carries in two series. The starters could play the entire first half tonight.

Green will be followed at quarterback by veteran back-up Todd Collins, who completed 13-of-19 passes for 165 yards versus New York.

KC looks for improvement defensively after allowing New York's backs to average 7.4 yards per carry with Ron Dayne running for 118 yards on just 11 tries.

St. Louis, playing the first of three exhibition games in an 11-day stretch, opened with a 13-10 home overtime loss to Chicago. QB Marc Bulger, who played just one series in the opener, is expected to play the first half tonight.

Marshall Faulk, recovering from off-season knee surgery, is expected to "play a little bit" according to head coach Mike Martz. Rookie Steven Jackson will see the bulk of the duty in the backfield.

In the last two regular-season meetings between these two in-state rivals, Kansas City has rolled 49-10 and 54-34.
