Simply re read what some of the people who have been around a long time say about Al's tactics and advertising methods he uses;is everyone wrong and you right?
I will stand by what I and other respected cappers have said: that GOY pick on Arizona a couple of weeks ago was pitifiul-as a regular play or comp. ok, but no TRULY good capper would give that game out as a GOY(assuming there was only one which is NOT the case with Big AL) win or lose based on the circumstances surrounding the game and considering there were thousands of other games he could have chosen;something tells me his motivation in choosing that game might not have been on the up and up.
Believe me there is a reason he is no longer a member of the respected Northcoast Community Line, and that is all I have to say.
Congrats if you can make money with him during the times you use him;the fact is that most of us do not believe he is any better than average over time, and I thiink seasoned veterans have a good reason to feel that way and express our feelings.
Of course it is a free country and you have every right to issue rebuttals if you disagree.

Since when are free picks worthless? I've posted so many free pick winners it makes my head hurt. And we are not cheap bastards because we dont buy picks, why should we when there are plenty of great freebies and picks from forum members and plenty of service rep[orts. Al's Goy was awful and I thought the same thing as savage about him trying to drive the line in his favor, but I do appreciate seeing the picks. and as a community we should be able to talk freely about someone or their picks without getting sweetlous or bringhomethebacons blood boiling, settle down guys, thats why we live in this great country, so we can all express our opinions. AL has one and only ONE 5* MLB GOY and yeah it was on AZ and they lost... that seems to be the only thing that you guys can keep bringing up... the accusation of him trying to drive the line in his favor is absolutely rediculous... Post what you want;I might even play one of Big Al's plays if it makes sense unlike his GOY.
I have spoken to many people in my 60 years of existence;some turned out to be honest and some did not;enough said.
I have and seen and heard enough about this guy over the years to form my own opinion about him, and no matter how you think, to me the Arizona game for many reasons defines this guy in a lot of ways, noe of which very good.

ps Next time you speak to Big Al, why not ask him outside of the trends how the miserable Diamondbacks, on a long losing streak at the time,warranted a GOY play against LA,(which was playing very well) out of all the thousands of games he could have used?

Hey Lou ... I think a lot of the guys here are frustrated because they can't cash on a regular basis with Big Al ... I mean that's all it is ... And here you are getting crucified for it and God knows I put more than my 2 cents in about him also. There's a lot of stress at times with what we do so we're using Big Al to let off steam ..... myself included.

If you're doing well with him I'm happy ... my closest friends here will vouch for me as a team player and well wisher and I just wanted to let you know I'm done bashing him and I think we should all cut you some slack and ease up a lot .

It seems like a somewhat simple formula... he doesnt divulge his systems, but im sure that it has something to do with if you have one team on a hot streak who is due to lose and one team on a cold streak which was playing at home, the 3rd game in a 3 game series they are due for a win... take for example ST Louis who was hot they lost today, to the marlins... or the reds who beat the Dodgers today who were hot... 3rd game of a 3 game series in which the home team lost the first two..

Our 2 selections on Thursday include the Chicago Bears and the Atlanta Falcons, who are our TV Game of the Year.


1.) Chicago--At 8:00 PM, our selection is on the Chicago Bears, who have been installed as a 4- point underdog, over St. Louis. The Bears fall into a super preseason system of mine that is 37-19 ATS since 1995. In addition to that powerful angle, I think the loss of defensive co-ordinator Lovie Smith (now head coach of the Bears) will be a huge negative for St. Louis. And his knowledge of the Rams' personnel will be a big advantage for Chicago. Smith was known for his attacking defensive schemes, and I expect an aggressive gameplan against his former team on Thursday night. On offense, the Bears added RB Thomas Jones, and brought in ex-KC quarterbacks coack Terry O'Shea, who will implement a west coast-style offense. That system will highlight the skills of 2nd-year QB Rex Grossman, who impressed me last year when he took over the starting role from Kordell Stewart. Both Smith and O'Shea will want to set a positive tone by putting forth a solid effort in their 1st game. Take Chicago.

2.) Atlanta--At 8:00 pm, on ESPN, our Preseason TV Game of the Year is on the Atlanta Falcons, who have been installed as a 3.5-point underdog vs. Baltimore. The Falcons had an awful season last year, primarily because of the injury to star QB Michael Vick, but also because of a porous defense that ranked last in the NFL (29th against the run, 32nd against the pass). Thus, Atlanta has turned to Jim Mora, Jr., who co-ordinated the 49ers' defense last season (13th overall; 9th against the run). Atlanta falls into 2 awesome preseason angles of mine that are 37-19 ATS since 1995 and 23-8 ATS since 1995. Also, last year, Atlanta was an awful 0 -4 in the preseason, but underdogs priced from +3 to +4 in Game 1 of the preseason are a perfect 100% (7-0 ATS) since 1996, if they were winless in the previous year's games. Take Atlanta as our Preseason TV Game of the Year. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie. And be sure to get on board for my Preseason Game of the Year, which goes on Friday night.

Common sense and the way teams are playing should be factored in no matter what the systems say, and I can't imagine why one would want to give out a GOY on the worst team in baseball and even more so when they are playing lousy against a team playing well.
That being said, I am going to go along with Coverboy and refrain from at least initiating comments which might be construed as trying to stir up trouble;I will however comment on what some one else says if remarks have merit.
