Hiya John ... It's absolutely suicidal to seek out any of these "services " what with all the talent here in BC. I know that and you know that ... tryin to explain it to the newcomers ... then comes a deluge of crap from the members here who hype the likes of Big Al Mc Mortuary and his burial service. When they take the Diamondbacks off the board for non performance Big Al will be at a loss for who to hype ... LOL

BTW - cant wait for your NCAA Baskets this year . What were you something like 95 - 50 last year ? Amazing indeed. !!!

More importantly, however, is your consistency from start to present. It has certainly been impressive! A slump here and there is part of the game but you guys realize that and in the end you persevere!

You are absolutely right. I should have included Stu Feiner and Mike Warren in my list but since they are pretty much "has beens"; I left them out. I, myself, found out the hard way about Mike Warren.
He will always be THE ABSOLUTE WORST in my book! You are correct on the Mississippi dividing line analogy.

Non-performance:

I've certainly seen particular games taken "off the board" before.
But I have never seen a given team taken "off the board" for non-performance.
Has this really happened before?
If so; to whom did it happen and when did it happen?
Is it really possible for the Arizona Diamondbacks to have no lines on the rest of their games due to non-performance?

It happened to the Cincinnati Bengals about 10 years ago ( not sure exactly when.. give or take a few ) when they were having a dreadful year .. In fact if memory serves me correct they were in S.F. once on a Monday Night and were a 24 point dog ... the highest number ever for an NFL dog. ( They Covered )

Yes a team can be taken off the board and it's called exactly that ... non performance .

If Vegas is getting pounded by players opposite Arizona ... sure they can take them off the board.

As you are aware it kills me watching newbies come on board requesting these services. What gets me more is how they defend these services. You'd think they were part of the service themselves.

Another point which I'm sure you'll agree with. I'm convinced the likes of Big Al give out one side and play the other side driving the line down in their favor. NO ONE in their right mind would release Arizona as a GOY. I don't care what systems or trends are in effect.

How could I forget Marc Lawrence.

Here are some others that almost made my list:
1. Ken White--this is STARDUST CASINO'S GOLDENBOY.
2. Bob Donahue --This guy pulled the biggest scam in Sports capping history in Auto Racing...an act I feel that he should go to prison for.
3. Trace Fields--lives in Oklahoma and is a Professional Sports Bettor...are you serious?
4. Dave Zenor---Gold Sheet guy...gives them 3 chances to win each week although between the three they NEVER had a winning season overall.
5. Gary Olshan --another Gold Sheet so called Expert. Hahahahaha
6. Brent Crow--here's another kid claiming to be a Professional Sports bettor...for a living...lives in Alabama...lifetime losing record ...Tim Trushel's best buddy...that tells you right there the kid is a loser...they have many of the same plays over the course of a season.
7. DOC'S Sports-- He hasn't won in nearly a decade...I suggest betting against every play he makes..an almost can't lose proposition...only Mike Lee and Russ Culver have lost more games in the past decade.
8. Phil Steele --another one of the most overated of all time...this guy does put out nice publications with actual sports stats...
But this is from a reliable source in Vegas: he doesn't bet a nickel...nothing...ever...I mean you should go to prison for advertising you're the BEST yet you don't even believe yourself that your picks will win. A master of Marketing and Hype--second only to ROOT and FEIST.
9. Ted Sevransky----a Vegas local jokal...he's with Trushel's IMMORAL Outfit...which means he probably doesn't bet and is just hoping to make a few bucks to survive.
10. Gold Sheet (see #'s 4 and 5 above)
11. Jimmy Rotunda--actually not a Bad College Capper but if you need to join an IMMORAL Outfit...you MUST NEED THE MONEY...meaning you don't bet the games..you just sell them.
12. Andy Iskoe --is said to be a nice guy..but gets wayyy too much publicity for a guy who bets $20 three teamers...incredible losing record overall the past 7 years since I documented him. He picks games everyday of the year...(something that most of us cannot do and expect to win...that's why he bets so small....he would be BROKE if he made even $100 bets.)

That's very interesting. It's so rare that I just don't remeber it ever happening. I can see why books would do it though; if they consistently lose so much on a given team, it is obviously in their best interest not to post odds on that team any longer.
It seems to me that a money line is a much more risky proposition for a book than a pointspread. When you have a team that loses almost every game; you can justify a pointspread but not a money line!
Didn't the UK (Kentucky) football program have an incredible losing streak a few years back?

I have been following these guys since services really started to flourish in late 70's.
There are a few good ones out there, and actually as much as I kid about NorthCoast, one has to admit that his 5 stars have done quite well if you have the patience.

From all just stated about some of the cappers, a few of whom I knew little, I would say YOU are the "Consumer Reports" or "Ralph Nader" of rating these guys;my list is somewhat smaller,the net result is the same though-most all of the biggies are marketers, liars, scammers, dishonest, conspirators, deceitful and many other choice adjectives to numerous to name;keep up the good work.
