  • De-Bunking Handicapping Myths

This is a handy guide for new bettors or people I like to call "true believers": they will believe anything a handicappers says.

    1) When a handicapper says: "...according to my own database.." or "personal pitching chart", he means: "according to ******, *******" or another popular stats website.

    2) When a handicapper says: "I have capped the whole card and find no value today so there will be no plays", he means: "I am too hungover or lazy to make picks today."

    3) When a handicapper says: "Call my comp line for a free pick", he means: "Listen to 5 minutes of carnival barking before I can tell you that there's no free pick today."

    4) When a handicapper says: "my daily package is sold out or closed today" he means: "buy my much more expensive monthly or season package."

    5) When a handicapper says: "...take advantage to my early-bird special" he means: "I suck at the current sports package you have bought."

    6) When a handicapper says: "I am waiting on some inside info so plays will be out later than usual" he means: "I am waiting for the handicapper who I buy my picks from to release his picks."

    7) When a handicapper says: "I will be away in Vegas this weekend with other wiseguys and big wigs in the industry" he means: "the Slurpee machine is broken again and I have to work overtime."

    8) When a handicapper says: "We couldn't get the picks out last night because our server was down" he means: "my ten year old son wouldn't let me on the computer last night."

    9) When a handicapper says: "Be patient. It's not a sprint, it's a marathon" he means: "I love using worn-out cliches to make myself look smart."

Well, that's it for now. Hope you learned something. Feel free to add your own.
"Your first shot puts him down, then you put one in his brain. Then he's dead, then we go home."
