Chicago White Sox -142 over Cleveland
Two lefties with great records go at it tonight in Chicago. Mark Buehrle and Cliff Lee. The White Sox give Buehrle great run support. Even though his ERA is over 6.00 in his last three starts the team is still 3-0. The White Sox are 9-1 in his last 10 starts. The White Sox pound the ball at home and that is one of the reasons they have a 21-13 record at home. Indians not a great road team at 13-20. Rubber match of this three game set goes to the home team.

Lady Luck rides my shoulder
Back from my business meeting. A two day wine and dine turned out to be twenty minutes of talking and the sale was in the bag. My ride home was enjoyable knowing that a nice fat commission check will be on its way shortly. Sometimes lady luck gets involved and rides my shoulder. I think she appeared today. Just called Mel stewarts comp line it says he was 5-2 yesterday with his monthly computer service, Does anybody get these plays? PLEASE POST. His $49.00 daily is still closed. Whats up with that? If he opens it before 5:30 I will buy and post here. I have another meeting so I won't be around after that time. His free comp is San Francisco AGAIN. He used them a few days ago as a 2-1 underdog and this is the third time on his comp line. I will post his $49.00 plays as soon as he opens it up. Let me know if anyone has his monthly picks. Thanks..

SHARK'S PICKS
MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL
Wednesday, June 23rd
ARIZONA at SAN DIEGO
ARI R JOHNSON -L (9-5, 3.05 ERA) vs SDG D WELLS -L (2-5, 3.06 ERA)
The D-Backs and Padres wrap up their three game series in San Diego. Tonight's pitching matchup features a pair of veterans as Randy Johnson takes the mound for Arizona to face David Wells of the Padres. Johnson comes in 9-5 with a 3.05 ERA in 15 starts with two complete games. He has allowed 37 runs on 66 hits with 113 K's, 24 walks and nine homers in 100.1 innings pitched. In his last start, Johnson had his six-start win streak come to an end when he allowed five runs on eight hits with 4 K's, one walk and a homer in 6.0 innings in a 6-2 setback versus the Devil Rays. He has fared well versus the Padres, going 8-2 with a 2.37 ERA in 12 games. Wells is 2-5 with a 3.06 ERA in 11 starts. He missed a couple of starts in May when he cut his hand in an accident at home. Wells has allowed 25 runs on 62 hits with 25 K's, seven walks and seven homers in 70.2 innings pitched. In his last start he allowed three runs on five hits in 8.0 innings, his longest outing of the season, but he took the loss in a 3-2 setback versus the Blue Jays.
SELECTION: ARIZONA -125
CLEVELAND at CHICAGO WHITE SOX
CLE C LEE -L (6-1, 3.81 ERA) vs M BUEHRLE -L (7-1, 4.07 ERA)
The Indians and White Sox play the third game of their four game set in Chicago. Tonight's pitching matchup features Cliff Lee of the Indians versus Mark Buehrle of the White Sox. Lee is 6-1 with a 3.81 ERA in 14 starts. He has allowed 36 runs on 79 hits with 66 K's, 41 walks and eight homers in 82.2 innings pitched. Last time out he allowed two runs on six hits with seven K's, no walks and a homer in 7.0 innings and picked up the victory in a 4-2 win over the Braves. He has been suspended for six games for intentionally throwing at the head of Ken Griffey Jr. on June 13th, but is appealing the suspension. Buehrle is 7-1 with a 4.07 ERA in 15 starts. He has allowed 48 runs on 112 hits with 77 K's, 21 walks and 13 homers in 97.1 innings pitched. He is coming off one of his worst outings of the season, in which he allowed seven runs in six innings in Montreal on Friday night and earned a no-decision in an eventual 11-7 win. He has received great run support this season, as the White Sox are averaging over 9.5 runs per game in his starts this year. He has a winning streak of six consecutive decisions and the White Sox are 12-3 in his 15 starts thus far.
SELECTION: CHICAGO WHITE SOX -145

***********
Glen's Picks June 23
20* POD NYY RL -1.5.....The Yanks hit Lefty's better than Righty's, and the last time they faced each other in May, Lieber had -Zero- ER against him through 7 innings, where Bedard had 2. Then the bullpen took over, and 9 runs were scored in the final 5 innings.
10* Bos RL -1.5.....Lowe faced Min last year, the BoSox have never seen Silva. Lowe has an ERA of .95 his last 3, 2 of which were on the road; Silva has an ERA of 3.38, 2 of which were at home. Silva does not travel well, and the Sox are hot to stay close to the Yanks in their division.
10* Ari/SD Under 7.....Classic pitcher's duel in pitcher friendly Petco park between Randy Johnson and David Wells, BOTH Lefty's. When Lefty's have faced each other, the Under is 36-12-3 (Under/Over/Push).
5* NYY/Bal Over 10.5.....See the POD above. Baltimore bullpen sucks, and the Yanks will get to Bedard and them early and often!
5* Min ML.....Buehrle is tough, and gets a lot of run support from his team. Lee is not that great on the road, and ChiSox hit Lefty's better that Righty's anyway!
5* MIL ML.....Capuano is decent, and Estes is not a good road player. Mil is paying the Rocks back for being swept in Denver earlier this year!
