Hundy-I think when I said minimum of $300-$500 to open an account with an offshore, I think what I meant is that some of offshores like WWTS have minimum deposits for which THEY will pay transaction fee if you send funds Western Union.
I believe it is $300 at WWTS.
If you want to pay fee, then I think you can start with as low as $50.
ps The other thing I used to absolutely hate with the local were the many busy signals you got when you tried to phone in a bet;it doesn't happen with offshores-certainly not when you bet on line, and is a very rare when you have to wait for an operator if you call in a bet-no busy signals.

      NO DISRESPECT TO YOU HUNDY

but you are playing a game that is already without the parlay shit a no lose for the book. having been one for many years in Boston area a good book and i emphize the word GOOD, never should lose money in the first place! what this guy is doing to you is not very uncommon as small time locals that have people by the balls can do whatever and when he wants, including I may add not pay if god forbid you ever hit him for a big score! What i cannot understand is this crap about rainouts? Please tell me about this one again as i think you said if playing a 3 team parlay and there is a washout the parlay becomes a loser?? I cannot say this any plainer you need to find a offshore TODAY and start to use it. All plays are done online if you want, no rushing or ever having to talk to anyone if you want, great odds and sounds like you are a parlay man and if so the best in the business as far as i am concerned is OLYMPIC SPORTS. take theLA /Pistons last night you could have taken LA at +2 and DET at +18 and the O/U at 159 or 179 depending on which way you wanted to go and played a 3 team parlay. In other words SPIRO(THE GREEK) lets you use a 10 point +/- on parlays as well as teasers. i have been playing there for the last 5 years ONLINE 95% of the time and never having to speak to a soul unless i needed to. Money sent using a CREDIT/DEBIT card, using NETTELLER or WESTERN UNION at same day service and have a mininium of a $5.00 play online only. The list goes on and on and there are others as i was a loyal member of WWTS until Billy Scott left the scene but have always heard great things about them as well. i only give you OLYMPIC because I use them and they are there 120% of the time for anything and great BONUSES as well. You can check their web site out at the address below or e-mail me as well if you want further info but either way GET SOMEWHERE OFFSHORE TODAY!!

      GOOD LUCK

      MIKE

        thanks mike

and no disrespect taken here, the thing i was trying to explain about a three-team parley is if one game gets rained out it doesn't go down to a two-teamer, if i go 2-0 on the other two games it's considered a no-bet, if i go 1-1 on the two games i lose the three-teamer....that's the thing that pisses me off the most because there have been two occasions in the last 2 weeks that i've bet a 3-teamer and one game got rained out and i went 2-0 on the other two and didn't win shit because there was a rainout, i will check out your recommendation along with savage's for an online site, there are so many different bets you can make too.....glad i started using this site 6 months ago because i have learned a lot and my eyes are open to bullshit now, thanks to everyone for their advice, times are a changin in my world starting tonight!!!!.....local is going to lose a good customer by me switching!

          Hundy-wise choice.
I have been doing this a long time, but have never heard the outrageous and unfair manner in which your local handles the parlays you cited;its almost like heads I win, tails you lose.

                  Another advantage

Some books do nifty promotions that no local would ever dream of. For example, some lay -108 odds on football while others reduce their juice on certain hours. One of my favorites: Millenium Sports gives you an extra 1/2 point on football on Fridays! Believe me, this can be helpful (they don't do it on or off the 3, though). If you shop around by using web sites, you can find numerous promotions that suit your style of betting. Here's another one: some books have enhanced parlay odds like +280 on a two-teamer or +650 on a three team. Time is passing locals by.
The only advantage I think locals have: I've noticed they offten are required to move their lines because of heavy action on the local team. For example, in Tampa the Bucs might be-5 while they're -4 or even -3 1/2 elsewhere. if you want to take a stand against your local team, local books are often the place.

Agree with all the other posts

I've been involved in wagering sports, of some sort, for 45 years now...At 16 I was handing out and backing the OLD STYLE football cards...Everyone loved to pick 10....I loved it..

Have learned a "little bit" along the way, and my suggestion to you is....

Shop around for an offshore that fits your needs...
Follow the advice from the people on this FOrum...
Make that last wager with your questionable bookie, the two times you'll deal with him...The FIRST and LAST...

Any monies you owe to him, I would subtract the amt he literaly STOLE from you, refuse to pay the rest, or go about your business, forget about him, and consider this a lesson WELL LEARNED...This business is full of scammers...

This FORUM detests them, fights them, exposes them, guides people such as your self how to handle them...Welcome aboard, get an offshore acct., follow this Forums guidance/picks and you'll see a significant/positive increase in your bankroll as well as attitude...Hope all the best for you....kmann

what a bloodsucker.........heres what you do.....quit playing parlays, confine those to offshore if you feel so compelled to playing them.......take him for some jack with straight bets only and use the money to get yourself into an offshore, but then be careful cause it's like youre in vegas you can bet anytime as much as you want and any gimmick or sucker, in other words parlay

                        A two teamers

with a push should pay, 6-5
For every 6 you put up, you collect 5
that actually sucks also, but that is the way it should go.

hundy you should be comparing his lines to a good offshore like olympic anyway.......take advantage of what he can give you an advantage on..........obviously it's not parlays

and for the much needed advice, i've only been betting for 10 years now and heavily for only 2, i have written down everyone's suggestions for offshore sites and will shop around this evening, for some reason i've just been scared of the whole offshore thing, maybe i won't lose as much because i won't chase my losses as often, you all been real helpful and thanks for welcoming me to this site, i've been on for about 6 months now and use some of your plays from time to time but haven't really posted much, thanks again and good luck to everyone!!!

                              hundy

Hundy. I have been reading this thread but haven't been able to write this until now. First, I hope you do follow thru on what you just wrote and find a good off-shore site. I used Local Books for many years and I agree with all the pros and cons everyone wrote and can add one more reason for not using a Local. I didn't like phoning him on an NFL Sunday and hearing a voice at the other end of the phone I never heard before. I knew it was a cop right away because they would always think it was funny to give out bad lines. After all my Locals were out of business I had to find an off shore and I wish I had done so sooner.

I don't know if you have found a site yet, but if not, the first thing you need to do is to decide what is the most important thing to you about selecting an off shore book. Some people may say the best lines, some may say half point bonus days, etc. etc. To me it was being paid quickly and being able to talk with someone 24 hours a day. I have been using sportsbook.com for 3 years and have never had one disagreement or problem with my balance. I can make withdrawls online anytime and will receive a bank check by Federal Express in 2 to 3 days. They pay all the fees. I don't know if this would apply to you but they also have a separate section and phone number for people who play larger amounts, where they have their best clerks and other extras. You mentioned you have friends who use them. Have you asked your friends for more info. If you would like to know more about sportsbook.com you can check out their site, or just ask here. The main thing Hundy, is that you make the change to an off-shore. The next best thing is to pick one that you wil be happy with. Good Luck to you.

Hundy: You got some excellent advise from everyone here!!!

Just my 2 cents: I use 3 different books and my favorite is Pinnacle. You can line shop between books. Pretty soon hurricane season will be here and it seems like a few times a week, 1 of them will be down. By having at least 3, you still have 2 books to place your wagers!

Every book has it's own "perk" You need to decide what is the most important thing in joining an offshore. It may be bonuses, free withdrawals, free 1/2 point, etc etc.

Have you ever called your local at 7:03 and it was too late to get your bet in??? That sucks!

I like to bet 2nd half NBA. Try doing that with your local! Also like to play futures. Took Detroit +595 to win the NBA Championship. Couldn't do that with my guy!

Grisword listed some great examples. Been wagering offshore for years and have NEVER had a problem.

Good luck with your "new" wagering system!!!

ps: That local shit on parlays with your guy is absolute BULLSHIT! Get rid of him!!!!!
                                We need MORE Cowbell!!!
