    Hundy-I am not sure-probably $300-$500.
What you describe as disadvantages I think are actually big advantages.
However, you know yourself better than I.

i don't think i would get stiffed on any payouts, he's paid out $2000 to $3000 to me and others several times over the past year, there's about 200 or so(including local law enforcement)that bet thru this guy, i guess i'm real surprised to hear that a push on a two team parley is not a loser with all of you, that's something that pisses me off, i just thought that was the way anywhere, i may go ahead and open an offshore site so i have somehere to play parleys fairly because i like to parley the shit out of games, and just use my local book for straight up bets, thanks to all who informed me of this crap, i will question the man tonight when i call in a few games

I don't understand what this has to do with an offshore.

JMO but if you don't want to go offshore b/c of lack of money mangement then just don't be parlays! that is the easiest way to solve your problem. parlays are meant to have odds that favor you. i would just stay away from them. good luck in whatever you choose.

Memphis- I forgot about your "metropolitan" location.
Hundy-on payments-it depends on the offshore and how fast you want the money.
WWTS allows one free payout a month;otherwise it costs around $10.
I myself rarely take payouts and treat the account as I would a stock one.
Its too much of a pain in the butt to take money out every time you win and then have to send it down again when you lose.

                WHY GO OFFSHORE

MY GUY IS THERE ALL DAY LONG THE ONLY THING HE DON`T TAKE IS SOCCER. HE IS THERE UNTIL THE LAST PITCH OR THE LAST KICKOFF OF EVERY GAME. HE WILL MEET YOU EVERY WED TO SETTLE UP OR HE WILL GIVE YOU A SETTLE UP FIGURE AS LONG AS YOUR CREDIT IS GOOD. THEY BEEN IN BUSINESS FOR YEARS AND THEY TAKE ANYTHING THE OFFSHORE BOOKS TAKE. I LIVE IN ONE OF THE BIGGEST CITY IN THE US BOOKMAKERS ARE A DIME A DOZEN AROUND HERE. BUT THESE PEOPLE ARE THE BEST I THINK IN TOWN.

I myself use WWTS and as stated am quite content;I am sure there are many as good if not better.

PhillyPhil-One of the things I like about an offshore is that you DON'T have to settle every week;that to me is one huge pain in the ass;I have been there- bank withdrawals and deposits, driving to meet someone, etc. Who needs that aggravation?

                      offshore versus local

i gave up the local thing a longtime ago.
                      1. I don't need my name in the hands of the feds if the moron gets busted and his paperwork is confiscated.
                      2. They will often limit action or move lines just to mess with specific customers.
                      3. There are tons of things they don't take. (Try to lay a future bet with them) or they limit payouts preposterously on horse bets.
                      4. They don't answer the phone at 3 in the morning.
                      5. Many don't take early week action which is when some great lines can be nailed in stuff like college football.
                      6. Offshores are very competitive. They give sign-up bonuses and free plays! Try to get that from Frank the Fixer.
                      7. Only a tiny amount of offshores have stiffed customers or gone out of business. It is very easy to learn who's above board and who isn't.
                      8. Payouts are quick.
                      9. Ialso strongly advocate opening two or three accounts. It IS possible to line shop. I know I've saved myself from zillions of losses and pulled out many wins by having that extra 1/2 point or full point. It's even possible to get a good middle this way. I just think the illegal books operating out of a tavern or barber shop are a thing of the past like much of the other things in society that have been changed by the internet.

Everyone gather up close and I will tell you the most important reason I use an offshore rather than a local:
Ok first of all everyone loses sometimes(unless you believe the claims of services which win virtually every day of the week).
All I know is when I used to use a local and lost, I dreaded going to bank to take out money and then go to meet someone in the parking lot of restaurant owned by the mob to pay.
Usually some guy would drive up in a Mercedes, someone who obviously didn't need the money, and I hated to shell out a say a couple of grand to this guy in a losing week.
Sure the guy is polite and all, but so is a stray dog or cat when he wants food from you.
Now at least when you lose to an offshore, you are not losing to anyone specific but to some big impersonal corporation, and provided you have suficient funds, the losses only show up in your account;there is no scrambling to write checks and running to your bank to take out painful withdrawals of cash in hundred dollar bills to go pay some thug or mafioso guy.
Anyways that is my reason for using offshores. :D

                          GRISWOLD

I UNDERSTAND WHAT EVERYONE IS SAYING ABOUT OFFSHORE ACCOUNTS BUT MY PROBLEM IS THAT I AM DIDICATED TO MY GUYS SAME AS THEY ARE DEDICATED TO ME. AS FOR FUTURES MY GUYS DO TAKE THEM AND LIMITS THERE ARE NONE WHEN YOUR IN A BIG CITY LIKE PHILADELPHIA BOOKIES ALWAYS HAVE EDGE HOUSES WHERE THEY GET RIDE OF SOME OF THAT BET. SO I WAS NEVER TOLD THAT I HAD A LIMIT BUT I DO UNDERSTAND WHAT YOU ARE SAYING. YEARS AGO I WOULD BET 5 DIMES A GAME AND NEVER DID THEY TURN ME DOWN DON`T GET ME WRONG THEY PROBABLY DID NOT TURN ME DOWN BECAUSE THEY ALWAYS GOT PAID. BUT NOW I DON`T BET LIKE THAT MY BIGGEST PLAY IS A DIME. I JUST FEEL MORE COMFORTABLE WITH MY LOCAL BOOKMAKER THAN SOME OFF SHORE SCAM ARTIST. MOST OF THE BIG TIME BOOKIES OWN OFFSHORE CASIONS BELIEVE ME I AM 64 YEARS OLD AND I BEEN AROUND THE BLOCK.

                          GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE TONIGHT

savage, i totally agree with you

and i think you have persuaded me to open an offshore account, i will try the one you recommended, you hit the nail right on the head when you mentioned the weekly run to the bank to "painfully" withdrawl the funds to pay the piper, that is definately the thing i hate the worse, having to consume my whole lunch hour once a week to either pay(which i have done too much lately)or collect, i think i will open an account tonight and do the majority of my wagering online and use my local for a few $50 bets here or there, i do hate the fact you can't bet on a football game early in the week and get a good line early before it moves by the weekend

Philly Phil-Although I am "only" 59, I would take exception that the offshores are scammers;I have been around the block a "few" times also.
The biggest ones like WWTS deal with billions of dollars and run a first class operation.
You can bet online or with courteous and sexy operators any time day or night, and Griswold listed so many reasons why they are preferable to the locals.
I respect your opinion, but for me at least going back to a local would be like going back to the old black and white tv sets.

                                Hundy

I felt the same way you do with my local. All ties lose with juice! His lines were always off as well. I never wanted to open an offshore account because I didn't understand how it worked. So to test it out I put just 50.00 in to see how it worked. I played 5.00 bets until I felt comfortable with the procedure. I now use my local if the line favors me. The advise your getting here will help you tremendously.

                                Good Luck
