NHL Playoffs

Hockey plays are just for fun. No reason for anyone to criticize them although I am sure someone will. We have done very well with them...

Flames +170........There is really no objective reason, apart from public perception, to think that Calgary does not have an even chance of winning this game. They are 8-2 on the road during these playoffs, and have won the last two opening round games on the road against the Redwings and Sharks respectively. We concede that the Lightning have a little more overall talent and firepower, but the tenacious and physical Flames are not to be underestimated after all they have accomplished to date. Goaltender Kiprusoff is having a Conn Smythe playoff run, and superstar Iginla is leading the playoffs in goals scored. Calgary has had 3 extra days rest, during which the Lightning had 2 very tough and physically punishing games against the Flyers. While we would not be at all surprised if the Lightning win tonight's game, we feel there is an equal chance they will come out flat and lethargic. The Flames have shown throughout the playoffs how well they protect a lead, so Tampa must avoid having a slow start from which they might not recover. By the way, if you remember, we made a series play on the Lightning to win the Stanley Cup after Game 5 last round at +115.......At the start of these finals, Tampa is now a -200 favorite to win the Cup.
