      WinOnBaseball.com - Tuesday Report - 05/25/04

Welcome to our first annual service free trial!

-- WinOnBaseball handicaps Major League Baseball exclusively.

-- All plays with analysis, along with current and past season records, will be updated weekly on the "Records" page of our website.

-- All records will be documented at National Sports Monitor (*********.com)

-- NEXT UPDATE will be sent before 6:00am Pacific on Wednesday, May 26th.

      Season record: 94-100 -17.42 UNITS

(Note: WOB is now 45-22, 67.1% on OVER/UNDER plays this season.)

Lines from Pinnacle current as of 2:45am Pacific on 05/25/04.

      Five plays for Tuesday:

      UNDER 8.5 ATL (RAMIREZ)/MON (KIM) -116 - 1 UNIT - 4:05pm Pacific
Ramirez isn't as good as his ERA would indicate, but luckily for him he'll be facing the Montreal llineup. Against lefties, Montreal has a pathetic .194 BA, .253 OBP, and .255 SLG. Atlanta's offense has been pretty bad as well. Against righties, they have a .248/.313/.398 split. Montreal's defense has been excellent, and their bullpen has been solid as well. Expect another low scoring teams from these two ugly offenses.

      UNDER 7.5 OAK (HUDSON)/BOS (SCHILLING) -120 - 1 UNIT - 4:05pm Pacific
Oakland's offense is effective when they take a lot of pitches and take the bases on balls. Schilling throws only strikes and does not walk anyone, so he's not playing to the strength of Oakland. If needed, he's got an excellent pen backing him up. Hudson is one of the best, and this should be a nice pitcher's duel.

      OVER 10 SEA (FRANKLIN)/CLE (DAVIS) -103 - 1 UNIT - 4:05pm Pacific
Although Seattle's offense has really been struggling, they do have a lineup that can hit a sinkerballer like Davis. Davis has hit a rough stretch where he's been extremely hittable, and even the weak Seattle offense should be able to join the party. The Cleveland offense has been incredible against right handed pitching, with a .297 BA, .382 OBP, and .453 SLG. Moreover, they have performed especially well against flyballers like Franklin.

      OVER 10 MIN (LOHSE)/TB (ZAMBRANO) -110 - 1 UNIT - 4:15pm Pacific
Lohse has been pretty bad, struggling with his control and walking a lot of hitters as a result. Moreover, he was struck by a ball on his throwing shoulder while sitting in the dugout and his start is in jeopardy, so he may not be at full strength. Although Tampa has been pretty awful against righties, they should be able to score off of a struggling Lohse. Zambrano has been racking up the Ks, but he also has control problems like Lohse. Both pitchers will put men on base, which should lead to a decent amount of scoring opportunities.

      OVER 10 TEX (ROGERS)/CHW (SCHOENEWEIS) +107 - 5:05pm Pacific
Chicago's hitting has been dominant against left handed pitching, and Texas has had pretty good success also. Schoenweis is not as good as advertised, and has shown some control problems as well. Both offenses should be able to cross the plate frequently today.

do you really need someone to handicapp the yankees -225 or R Johnson or P martinez at -275 vs the sisters of the poor.No one needs a service to do that.

          Tuesday Analysis
          L.A. LAKERS (-9) 97 Minnesota 83
Los Angeles has played much better at home than they have on the road this season and that trend should continue tonight, as the Lakers ought to play with more intensity after getting blownout in game 2. The Lakers qualify in a 20-2 ATS game 3 home favorite bounce-back situation, but my ratings favor L.A. by just 6 ½ points in this game. Those ratings are based on all games this season for the Lakers when all 4 superstars have played, and Minneosta’s rating is adjusted a couple of points for Sam Cassell’s likely limited minutes (he played just a few minutes in game 2 with a bad back and is questionable for this game). The Lakers have played much better in the playoffs and using playoff games only would result in a fair line of Los Angeles by 9, which is the current line. I’m less confident in those short-term ratings, so I’ll resist making the Lakers a Best Bet despite the favorable situation. The Lakers do have a profitable 56% chance of covering at the current line of -9 points, so laying the points looks like the best option even at what I consider an inflated pointspread..

The scams just continue: Yesterday, WCSR claims they never heard of Windy City Sports. Today, I get an email saying that they are now parting ways because of a disagreement and you should collect the $100 from Dave Page (his name is Page not Berg) at Windy City Sports.

Hey Kyle, at least try another forum for your scams. You were The Edge Wins, then Hoosier, then Windy City Sports Review, now Seagull Sports. At least the other scamdicappers are somewhat clever, you are an idiot!

Today’s Free Pick in MLB: San Francisco/Arizona OVER 7.5

We believe the line for this game should be closer to 9.

The OVER is 11-4-1 in San Francisco’s last 16 home games.

The OVER for Arizona this season is 24-19.

The OVER for San Francisco this season is 21-15.

Fossum has been tagged for 8 ER’s in his only 2 starts.

San Francisco (last 10 games) against left handed pitching at home .293

Though JT Snow is questionable tonight, we understand Bonds will play.
