      Baseball Play/Wednesday.......

Our free plays are now 10-2 here with a couple of nice Dogs winning in the process. All Plays have won very easily except for the 2 losers which both lost very easily. We have recaptured the #1 slot in the Ultimate Handicapping Contest with +44.55 Units. The winner last year finished just over +108 Units. The standings link is below as well.....

This was just copied from the members page....
      _______________________________

We had a nice day Tuesday in baseball. We have had many reports of some of you getting 10.5 in the Tiger/Twin game yesterday and the line did move that way in the afternoon. Many lines at Minnesota will move upward this baseball season because it is a hitter's park and usually a favorite bet among sports bettors. Once agan today we have a number of plays in baseball and a couple in the NBA Playoffs.

      RedSox/Bluejays Under 9.5 (Wakefield/Lilly)

Many of you that do not want this much action will just want to play the top plays. Some books have the Yankee/WhiteSox total at 10 and -115. That is a better play in our estimation.....Make sure to list your pitchers......Your lines will vary some.....

        Dr. Bob

        Wednesday NBA Analysis
        Milwaukee (+11) 85 DETROIT 94
The Pistons won big in game 1 as expected, but their 108-82 victory sets the Bucks up in a decent 41-20-1 ATS situation. However, Milwaukee doesn’t qualify in the best part of that situation and teams riding a losing streak of 3 games or more are just 42-58-1 ATS in playoff games since 1991 (15-26 ATS for road teams – including the Bucks’ game 1 loss). Confusing the situation even more is the fact that game 2 dogs of 10 points or more are 25-8 ATS over the years (but just 3-3 ATS if the team is coming off consecutive straight up and spread losses (as the Bucks are). Overall, my ratings favor Detroit by 11 points and the situations favor the Bucks a bit, so I’ll lean slightly with Milwaukee.

        MIAMI (-5) 93 New Orleans 87
My ratings only favor the Heat by 4 ½ points and game 1 was decided by a last second shot by Heat rookie Dwayne Wade - but I’ll lean slightly with the Heat in this game. Home teams that win close in game 1 of a series tend to play better in game 2 and that tendency is worth a couple of points. However, this looks like another game to stay away from.

        Denver (+10) 90 MINNESOTA 97
Underdogs of 10 points or more are 25-8 ATS in game 2 of a series (although just 3-3 ATS if the team is coming off back-to-back straight up and ATS losses) and my ratings favor the Timberwolves by just 9 points (using only games since Minnesota added Wally Szcerbiak to the mix after the All-Star break). The Nuggets actually were very competitive will with the Timberwolves in game 1, with the difference in the teams coming from beyond the 3-point arc. Denver made only 3 of 17 from long range while the T’Wolves made 6 of 12 from 3-point range. If each team made their normal percentage of 3-point shots the Timberwolves would have won that game by just 1 point and I can certainly see this game being more competitive. I’ll lean with Denver if they’re getting 10 points or more.

Schaefer Sports' Best Bet MLB Total for 4/21/04

TAMPA BAY at BALTIMORE - 7:05 PM EST
PAUL ABBOTT (R) vs. MATT RILEY (L)

                5 Units on Tampa Bay/Baltimore OVER 8.5 (+100)

Don't let the low ERAs of 1.32 and 1.38 scare you. Baltimore is a run producing machine and this one will be 10 runs or more. For Tampa Bay, the OVER is 3-1 on the road while the OVER is 6-4 VS Right Handed Starters for Baltimore. Great value here at +100 as my Best Bet MLB total for 4/21/04. We finished #2 Nationwide in MLB for the 2003 season. Good Luck!

Free 2* NBA Playoff Pick for 4/21/04

                    DENVER at MINNESOTA (59 - 24) - 9:35 PM EST
NBA Western Conference Playoffs - Game 2

                    2 Units on Denver +10

Denver had the lead for a while in Game #1 but blew it. For game two, they will come in prepared after watching video tapes of game #1 and play a much stronger game both offensively and defensively. Don't be surprised if the Nuggets win the game outright. The Nuggets are 13-6 ATS after a loss by 10 points or more and 11-4 ATS after allowing 105 points or more. Take Denver +10.

                            WinOnBaseball - Wednesday Report - 04-21-04

                            Season record: 24-31 -9.89 UNITS

                            Three plays for Wednesday:

                            OVER 9 CHC (MITRE)/PIT (FOGG) -117 - 1 UNIT - 4:05pm Pacific
Fogg has looked terrible, and his underlying skill set justifies it. He's always had problems giving up the long ball, and he's already given up 6 this year. With a weak bullpen backing him up, I think the Cubs can put up a fair share of runs in this game. Mitre is no ace, and Pittsburgh should be able to score on him as well.

                            MON (HERNANDEZ) +140 over NYM (Glavine) - 1 UNIT - 4:10pm Pacific
Glavine has looked spectacular so far, but he left his last game early due to shoulder tendinitis, and the pain continued into Sunday. As good as Glavine has been, I still think he'll break down sooner than later. His skill set has been on a major decline, and with a quality pitcher like Hernandez at this number, I think this is good value. Montreal's offense has been awful, but I'm hoping they can take advantage of a less than 100% Glavine.

                            OAK (HUDSON) -130 over Sea (Meche) - 1 UNIT - 7:05pm Pacific
Hudson has been pretty dominating this year, pitching a gem against the potent Angels offense in his last start, and holding the Mariners to four hits in a complete game win in the start before that. Backed by a solid bullpen, the Mariners probably will have a tough time scoring in this game. Meche struggled with his command in his last start, which mirrors a trend fromt he second half of last year. A patient hitting team like the A's should be able to take advantage of that.

PLEASE NOTE: All wagers are recommended for a "base" unit. Thus a side for 1 UNIT at -110 should be considered risking 1.10 UNITS to win 1.00 UNITS, while a team at +110 should be considered risking 1.00 UNITS to win 1.10 UNITS.

                            Good luck,

Spark-Just curious. What is point of posting WinonBaseball every day in view of their lousy record.?
Is this for fade purposes or are they really good, and you post the picks because you believe they wil turn it around?
                              Thanks
