All lines taken from Pinnacle are current as of 4/20/04 11:52pm Pacific.

          Season record: 24-31 -9.89 UNITS

(Part 1 of 2) Two early plays for Wednesday:

          OVER 9 CHC (MITRE)/PIT (FOGG) -117 - 1 UNIT - 4:05pm Pacific
Fogg has looked terrible, and his underlying skill set justifies it. He's always had problems giving up the long ball, and he's already given up 6 this year. With a weak bullpen backing him up, I think the Cubs can put up a fair share of runs in this game. Mitre is no ace, and Pittsburgh should be able to score on him as well.

          MON (HERNANDEZ) +140 over NYM (Glavine) - 1 UNIT - 4:10pm Pacific
Glavine has looked spectacular so far, but he left his last game early due to shoulder tendinitis, and the pain continued into Sunday. As good as Glavine has been, I still think he'll break down sooner than later. His skill set has been on a major decline, and with a quality pitcher like Hernandez at this number, I think this is good value. Montreal's offense has been awful, but I'm hoping they can take advantage of a less than 100% Glavine.

Free Winners for Wednesday, April 21
                MLB BASEBALL
                Yankees @ White Sox
                Pick: OVER 9.5
                Time: 8:05 PM EST

Today the National Sports Advisors look for the Yankees and White Sox to score over 9.5 runs, when they matchup in Chicago tonight.

Unlike the rest of the New York Yankees, Jorge Posada hasn't had any problem hitting this season.

The switch-hitting catcher will look to continue his impressive start when the Yankees play the middle game of their series with the Chicago White Sox.

On a team loaded with offensive stars who are all struggling at the same time, Posada has done his part to make sure the Yankees *****'t fallen too far back in the AL East.

Posada, who finished third in the AL MVP voting last season after putting up a career-high 30 home runs and 101 RBIs, leads the Yankees in batting average, homers and RBIs. He went 3-for-4 with his sixth home run and four RBIs as the Yankees bounced back from losing three of four in Boston to beat the White Sox 11-8 on Tuesday.

When the Yankees scored seven runs in the first on Tuesday, it was their biggest opening inning since scoring eight against the California Angels on June 4, 1995, en route to an 11-3 win at Yankee Stadium.

It was their biggest first inning on the road since also plating seven against the Kansas City Royals on July 24, 1988.

The Yankees scored just 56 runs in their first 13 games, but with their 16-hit effort on Tuesday, they upped their team batting average to .234. Struggling third baseman Alex Rodriguez had three hits, and is now at .196.
Oh, this is the worst-looking hat I ever saw. What, when you buy a hat like this I bet you get a free bowl of soup, huh? Oh, it looks good on you though.

                  Dodgers @ Colorado
                  Pick: OVER 12.5
                  Time: 9:05 PM EST

Today the Vegas Sports Insiders look for the Dodgers and Rockies to score over 12.5 runs, when they matchup tonight in Colorado.

Although Hideo Nomo has won two straight starts, he is still trying to regain his velocity after undergoing offseason shoulder surgery. Nomo will try for his third straight victory as the Dodgers continue a three-game series with the Colorado Rockies.

Nomo allowed just three earned runs and six hits in five innings of Los Angeles' 7-5 win against San Diego on Thursday. However, the right-hander's velocity has been down ever since his surgery.

He was somewhat faster against the Padres, but his 84-mile-per-hour fastballs still weren't up to par, and he used mostly offspeed pitches after allowing two first-inning homers.

Nomo was pounded for seven earned runs and seven hits in five innings in his first appearance of the season, an 8-2 loss to the Padres on April 5 after allowing nine homers and earning an 8.13 ERA in spring training.

However, he bounced back with an encouraging 7-4 win over Colorado on April 10, allowing just two earned runs and four hits in six innings.

Nomo has struggled coming off of surgery before. In 1998, he underwent offseason elbow surgery, and started the season 2-7 with a 5.05 ERA for Los Angeles before requesting a trade and being shipped to the New York Mets. He went 4-5 with a 4.82 ERA for New York to close out the season. Last season, Nomo won a career high-tying 16 games with a 3.09 ERA.

The Dodgers lost 7-1 to the Rockies on Tuesday, snapping their five-game winning streak. Adrian Beltre homered for Los Angeles, which also started the 1983, 1988 and 1997 seasons 9-4.
Oh, this is the worst-looking hat I ever saw. What, when you buy a hat like this I bet you get a free bowl of soup, huh? Oh, it looks good on you though.
