The second round of the tournament provided some huge upsets, but then if you were reading our expert cappers' picks you would have known about most of them before they happened. Our record in the second-round: 9 Picks - 7 Wins - 2 Losses. On Saturday our ATS winners included Texas Tech (+6.5) and Alabama (+7.5). On Sunday we gave you Pittsburgh (+1.5) as our best bet of the day, as well as Boston College (+6), and Illinois (+1.5). We also really appreciate all the emails we have received thanking us for our weekend efforts.

Today we unveil our previews and ATS picks for the Sweet Sixteen. We're picking a few underdogs, but our best bet of the round has to be Oklahoma State (-2) to beat Pitt. We expect the Cowboys to win it all. They are certainly good enough, whereas Pittsburgh are a gritty, physical team that have had to battle to get this far. Pundits are predicting a close game. We don't see that happening unless Oklahoma State are ice-cold. If they play like they did against Memphis, which is their normal game, they will roll. Spotting Pitt points because they are close to their campus is nonsensical. Bet the Cowboys to cover this small spread and move on to the Elite Eight.

Pistons @ Spurs; Under 167 Total Points

Another fantastic day for us in the NBA on Wednesday as our top pick, Seattle -5 over Utah, won along with our other two ATS handicap picks. The key in pro sports is to identify a hot team early in their streak and then to follow them until they are spent. So far we have six straight wins following the SuperSonics, with no signs of slowing down just yet.

Another team that has been good to us in March is the revamped, revitalized Detroit Pistons. We thought they might have a tough assignment last time out at New Orleans, and so it proved, but our best bet from that game was the Under for total points, which was an easy winner. The Pistons are playing unbelievable D right now, and they don't score that freely themselves. Tonight they face an equally stingy opponent, and whereas the ATS market makes little appeal, we think the Over/Under market is worth a substantial wager. The line has been set at 167. Take this or anything close to it as this game should fall Under 165 total points. Bet the Under in the Pistons @ the Spurs as our best NBA pick of the day.

Wake Forest vs St Joseph's; Wake +2.5

Yesterday we hit one of our biggest value dog plays of the month. We told you to bet Milwaukee at the Kings, where the Bucks were 11 point underdogs. As we thought, the Kings were sub-par, and Milwaukee actually won the game by 11 points, in what can only be described as ATS overkill. We continue to pick well over 70% value dog winners for March.

St Joseph's have to face the music on Thursday. They are a good team, unfairly burdened with a #1 ranking that they probably cannot live up to, and which has certainly done them more harm than good. They managed a narrow win over Texas Tech, who are slightly above average. Wake Forest are far stronger, and on paper they outmatch St Joe's. However, the Demon Deacons have acquitted themselves poorly in this tourney. They were pathetic in the first round, and stumbled through the second. Right now this game should be a pick-em coin toss. Our expectation is that Chris Paul will singlehandedly help his team a little bit more than Jameer Nelson, and Wake Forest will squeeze into the Elite Eight. Take Wake plus the points here.
NIT Pick

Connecticut vs Vanderbilt; UConn -8

Yesterday we told you to take Iowa State plus the 9 points in their NIT game @ Florida State. We even suggested that they might win it straight up, which is what happened. It all led to a sparkling parlay winner, our third multiple pick winner in the last four days.

For Thursday the foundation of our parlay play is the one big Sweet Sixteen favorite that looks a stand-out wise play, namely the Huskies (-8) against Vandy. The Commodores rely heavily on Matt Freije, he is their Lionel Richie if you will, while the rest of the team is as tough to name as the original Commodores. This doesn't bode well for Vandy, who have surprised everyone by getting this far in the first place. The Huskies have their own frontcourt stud in Emeka Okafor, who has breezed through the first two rounds, but they also have a strong backcourt, and this should enable them to overwhelm Vanderbilt. This game shouldn't be close, and as long as Connecticut remain in single-digits you should lay the points
