                Final pick(s) for Saturday:
SATURDAY, 3-27-04........NCAA tournament: (one regular bet)

                1) 6:05pm/cst -- (total play) -- OKLAHOMA ST/ ST. JOE'S -- "OVER 145" -- high scoring [LOSS]
We needed O.T. in order to hit the "over" in this game but it didn't quite happen. I thought both teams shot very poorly at times especially on open looks "beyond the arc" and otherwise. If I had to do all over again.....I still like the play! There is always a risk in playing the "over" at this juncture in the "big dance" because every shot means that much more! Nerves and pressure can affect these young players as well. Missed layups, turnovers and overall poor shooting can kill a solid "over" play!
                ----------------------------------------------------------------------

Only two games to choose from as the CBB season is winding down. I studied this small card for awhile and did not feel good about any "side plays." However, I do like this one "over play" as a REGULAR BET.

                Good luck!

                Bennojd

p.s.> I have already started working on tomorrow's (Sunday's) games but probably won't post anything until Sunday morning around 11am/cst.

SUNDAY, 3-28-04........NCAA tournament: (ONE OPINION PLAY)

                  1) XAVIER (+7 1/2 or +8) over duke [WIN]
I will NOT count this win as part of my posted record since this game was only an opinion and I didn't actually bet it.
NOTE: I DID NOT BET THIS GAME; this is only an OPINION!!
The two games today are very tough calls (for me). But I know many of you enjoy some kind of pick so here is a small opinion "side play" for today.
**Again.........I DO NOT BET JUST TO BET; I COULD CARE LESS ABOUT "ACTION."**
THESE ARE DIFFICULT GAMES TO HANDICAP (for me) AND I THINK THE LINES ARE ROCK SOLID.
I APOLOGIZE FOR THE HORRIBLE PICK ON SATURDAY; the only chance for hitting the "over" was O.T. and it almost happened but "almost" is only good in horseshoes and hand grenades!
AGAIN, AT THIS JUNCTURE.......THE GAMES ARE TOUGH TO PICK FOR BOTH SIDES AND TOTALS.

SORRY THAT I DON'T LIKE EITHER GAME'S SIDE OR TOTAL MUCH. XAVIER HAS BEEN HOT THOUGH AND I WOULD BE SURPRISED IF THEY DON'T SHOW UP SUNDAY.
BUT AGAIN.........DUKE IS DUKE AND THEY DON'T WIN BY LUCK.

Have a nice rest of the weekend!

Ben. Don't apologize for being smart. The more selective someones selections, the more value I attach to them.

Bennojd you don't need to be sorry for yesterday because now there so many few games to choose from to have a very good feel on any of them.

THURSDAY, 4-1-04..........NIT tournament/ Final game: (ONE PLAY--VERY SMALL)

                              1) 6PM/CST -- (TOTAL PLAY) -- MICHIGAN/ RUTGERS -- "OVER 135" -- high scoring game [LOSS]
The OVER fell short by 18 points due to sickening shooting from both teams!!

I heard talk that the "public vs. smart money" equation made the UNDER the right call.........well, yes the UNDER was a good call!
If someone can use that equation to their benefit, I think that's wonderful!
Personally, I could care less about it because I think the game is played on the court! I didn't see Mr. Public Money or Mr. Smart Money missing shots in Madison Square Garden tonight!

This was probably the worst shooting display I've seen in a championship game in recent memory! I stand by the OVER which should have been reached easily!! I don't normally use the word "easily" but after watching both teams tonight score 117 points while shooting that bad, another 18 points would have been hit with just average shooting!!

**This is a super tough game to pick.**
I love the way Michigan has been playing and they have treated us nicely but Rutgers has only lost three games in their last 13 and by 1, 1 and 3. So, since they are basically playing at home here (they are less than 1 hour from Madison Square Garden) and they shot lights out Tuesday..........I decided our best value would be on the total and since Michigan has been playing at a faster pace lately if opponent allows it.........I assume Rutgers will run it quick all night as they love that type of game with their 3 point shooters. But again this is a TOUGH GAME TO PICK........so I suggest playing it small and NO parlays with it........(lol).
                              ----------------------------------------------------------------------

$$ I will try and post Saturday's final four pick(s) by tomorrow (Friday) at 7pm/cst. They also are SUPER TOUGH GAMES........as I said last week........no more free rides left now.........these games are solid teams playing each other..........and if they play ten times it is quite possible that you will get 5 overs and 5 unders and each side would win 5 of the 10. $$

                              Good luck to everyone!
                              Bennojd

If interested? What the heck are you talking about? I have not made a wager on the last 4 tourney games without first making sure you were on the same play. Keep up the great work. What a play Michigan was!!!
