Premium Plays Saturday afternoon

3* Memphis +7

I'm certainly no expert in Conference USA and Memphis has made me scratch my head on several occasions this season, but this seems like a good investment Saturday. The Tigers have quietly won 11 straight and haven't been close to this size an underdog during the streak. I don't care what excuse you use, but the bottom line is Louisville is 1-6 SU in their last seven and just 3-9 ATS in their last dozen. The Cardinals just appear to be a team that peaked a little early but are still getting the respect in February from their accomplishments in December and January. The fact that Coach Calipari has hit team has his team playing its best basketball approaching March is no surprise. Memphis an amazing 19-3 ATS after the 15th game of the season the last three years when facing a quality opponent or those that outscore their foes by four points or more per game. Louisville just 1-5 ATS the last three years when coming off a home upset defeat. With three games to go in the regular season (two on the road), I'm not sure Louisville can recover from their misfortune this month which included a 25-point loss at TCU. They are favored here by this amount strictly on reputation and not recent play.

3* George Washington -4

Plenty of respect for both Richmond and George Washington but I have to take the Colonials at this price. GW is 12-1 SU at home (10-3 ATS) and are averaging 79.2 points a game. In their last five games anywhere George Washington is producing 83 points a game and they are looking to avenge a 7-point defeat at Richmond. GW won by 14 points here last season against the Spiders. Ideally I would have preferred Richmond coming off a victory at Rhode Island but the Spiders hit only 35.7 percent from the field in their 56-54 defeat to the Rams.

3* Buffalo +7

Buffalo is now 8-2 SU and ATS in their last 10 games. Miami of Ohio has scored 66 or less points in eight of their last nine games. This puts the Redskins at a disadvantage when it comes to laying substantial numbers. Buffalo has covered five straight conference road games (four outright wins). Buffalo is 6-0 ATS this year following a win by 10 points or more. Miami of Ohio is 15-9 this year but only outscoring their opponents by less than two points per game. I'll take a shot here with an undervalued dog.

4* Charlotte +1

Charlotte usually plays Cincinnati very tough on this floor as the 49ers are 4-2 SU with the Bearcats here since 1997. Cincinnati snapped an eight-game cover skid by whipping St. Louis last time out at home. I'm a little surprised to find the Bearcats favored by a point here. Charlotte is 18-6 SU this year and 9-2 at home and already beat Cincinnati in Ohio back in January. The 49ers are a bucket away from eight straight wins (7-1). Cincinnati is not a good shooting team hitting 44 percent or less in 8/9 recently and the 49ers are averaging 80.4 points a game this season. Wrong team is the slight favorite here. Charlotte has covered 22 of their last 32 Saturday home games.

5* Western Kentucky -18 1/2

Senior day at Western Kentucky with the Hilltoppers playing their final regular-season game and they will run it up on a sacrificial lamb like Florida International. The bottom line here is that Western K comes off three straight road games, a lopsided loss, and return home where they are averaging 83.7 points a game. Florida International is 0-11 on the road averaging 56.9 points a contest or 26 less than the Hilltoppers produce at home. FIU comes off a miserable 16-point home defeat to South Alabama which is just scary. In that game they scored just 46 points. This is hard to fathom but Florida International has scored 48 or less points in four of their last five road games. 48 points would be 35 points less than Western Kentucky averages at home. It's really simple mathematics in this one guys. FIU is 0-7 ATS this year against teams that connect on 45 percent or more of their field goals. Western is hitting 49.6 percent of their shots from the floor at home this year. FIU is 2-8 ATS as an underdog of 10 points or more. THIS SHOULD BE A BLOWOUT OF CLOSE TO 30 POINTS!
