CFL Betting Notes - Week 20
    David Schwab

Heading into the stretch run of the CFL regular season, Friday’s betting action started with Montreal squeezing past Toronto 27-24 closing as a heavy 10 ½-point home favorite. Later that night, Saskatchewan kept its West Division title hopes alive with a 27-19 road victory against British Columbia as a 7 ½-point favorite.

The two Saturday games in Week 19 saw Hamilton roll over Ottawa 33-12 to cover as a heavy 17-point home favorite ahead of Calgary’s crucial 37-33 home victory against Winnipeg as a 6 ½-point favorite.

    Friday, Oct. 25

Calgary Stampeders (11-5 SU, 5-10-1 ATS) at Winnipeg Blue Bombers (10-7 SU, 11-6 ATS)

Reggie Begelton helped pace Saturday’s win with three catches for touchdowns as part of four receptions on the day for 62 yards. Josh Huff caught six balls for 121 yards as part of Bo Levi Mitchell’s 337 passing yards in that game.

The loss has Winnipeg eying the third playoff seed in the West with a game and a half lead over Edmonton. They are 6-3 ATS in their last nine contests with the total going OVER in three of their last five games. They are 6-2 ATS this season playing at home. Game Overview

    Point-spread: Saskatchewan -1
    Total: 48

    Game Overview

Cody Fajardo stayed hot at quarterback in Friday’s win with 224 yards passing and a score while completing 21 of his 26 passing attempts. On the year, he has thrown for 3,873 yards with 16 touchdown throws against eight interceptions.

The Eskimos clinched the final playoff spot heading into last week’s bye with a 19-6 victory against BC as 2 ½-point home underdogs. They have won two of their last three games SU following a four-game losing streak. This was the first time Edmonton covered the spread over its last seven games. It is 3-5 ATS in eight previous home games this season. Defense rose to the occasion against the Lions last time out with backup quarterback Logan Kilgore still struggling to get this offense into the end zone through the air.

    Betting Trends

--Edmonton has a slight 6-4 SU edge in what has been a tight series the past few seasons with Saskatchewan 6-4 ATS. The total has stayed UNDER in six of those 10 games and it has stayed UNDER in three of the last four meetings.
