It's been my experience that over the long haul, 57-59% winners is doing VERY good. If you can find a service that hits consistantly in this range, you've found a good one. Sometimes, the low 60's isn't out of the question, but usually over the course of a season, I haven't seen much better than that. Scamdicappers or not, sometimes people can get on a roll. What would scare me, is if you actually CALLED some of these services for plays, I'm sure some give out both sides of the game to various callers. That way, at least someone will be happy and call back to give more money. It can be pretty corrupt stuff, just like many other industries.

Ted,
I have his records.
Year 2000 NFL +3.3 units NCAA +36.1 units
Year 2001 NFL +26.6 units NCAA +24.1 units
Year 2002 NFL +22.9 units NCAA -38.1 units
3 year total of +74.9 units including preseason, postseason and bowl games. Especially impressive with 14-2 on big plays last 16 picks. He really took a shit this year in NCAA, but not a bad 3 year run. If the forum, PhilSr and PhilJr are still around next year, I would like to share the picks with the regulars via private e-mail. You want to buy them?

That's the one thing I really like about PhilSr. He is honest, win or lose. Anyone listen to his messages after the games? When he wins he sounds like he is having an orgasm. When he loses, he is almost suicidal. You can't drink all day if you don't start in the morning

Phil Jr.:
First, let's talk in percentages not units. What has been his percentage of wins over the history of his service in the NFL? Second, you are only talking about only the last three years, which may be drawing an arbitrary line to cut off losing years. This is a trick done by many services.
You are drawing the same arbitrary line with the big plays. That record is great for the clients that received only those 16 selections, but how have the clients that received his last 40 done?
As for buying his picks, I soundly trounced his ass in the NFL in 2002 and that is documented at www.thesportsmonitor.com. I will do it again next year. In fact, I will make this guarantee right here and right now: If anyone reading this buys our NFL selections next year and Pioneer Picks does not have a higher winning percentage for the regular season than Northcoast as documented by Ruth Glasgow of the Sports Monitor of Oklahoma City, then you can have a full refund. That offer is good until the regular season starts and is the same even if we hit 70% and Phil hits 71%. I will remember so just tell the person you talk to if you decide to sign up. How is that?
Want to buy selections from Pioneer Picks? Our service is much cheaper.

Ted,
I'm not going to get in a pissing match. The members just asked who was good. I stated my opinion based on the 3 years that I have had PhilSr. What happened before that doeasn't matter, I didn't have him then.
Why not base it on units? That's why people post them in units, the stronger the play, the more money you're supposed to bet. In my case, it seems to be working.
How much do you charge for NFL/NCAA? Do you put your plays out in units? I hope you do hit 70% and make a lot of people happy. That's the whole idea--beat the book.
There are a lot of good cappers on this site and I respect a lot of their picks. Keep up the good work guys! You can't drink all day if you don't start in the morning

Ted,
Just checked out your website for the first time. I see you are bragging about two 3* winners. Are you giving out plays by units, but you want to match percentages? What's your game? Buyer beware, me smells something. You can't drink all day if you don't start in the morning

Yes, we do unit plays. However, most games are 3*. A 4* would be a game of the month and a 5* a game of the year. Your bet variations should never be greater than that because no game should be played if there are games out there that are twice as good. The reason I do not like to compare units is because some people play a huge variation of units that can make them look better if their top plays hit over the short term. Thus, I think it is better to judge a capper based on winning percentage.
I agree with you that Phil is solid in college football. His service is also honest. I do not personally know him, but I know that his publications are some of the best in the industry. I used to play services back in the early '90s, but learned to handicap myself because I could not afford anyone that was any good (such as Phil) when I was a college student. Several years later, I started Pioneer Picks when I found that my winning percentages were probably good enough to put me in Ruth Glasgow's top ten.
I apologize for getting in what amounted to a pissing contest, but it seemed you were saying that my goals of hitting 55-60% over time were easily accomplished. Even with the admission that Northcoast is good, I know they have not done that in the NFL over a significant number of years and they probably have not done much better than that in college football. If you play an average of 3.5 units and hit 57% you are doing quite well even though you might not be driving that cadillac.
As for the price of our service, our general rate is $150. We usually have specials for clients that sign up for the seasonal service. For instance, college and NFL football this year was $399 for the whole season. Looking at our documented record, that was probably one of the better service deals out there. Our picks our guaranteed in the sense that if you purchase a month and do not hit over 52.5% than you get the next month free. Seasonal clients get a similar guarantee.

Bookie Buster:
Perhaps you should do a little research before you comment. Here is the free plays that were given by Pioneer Picks:
12/27 CFB Southern Miss (+) Oklahoma St. Push
1/3 NBA Denver Nuggets (+) Seattle Sonics Win
1/6 CBB Mississippi St (-) Florida Loss
1/7 NBA Houston Rockets (+) Orlando Magic Win
1/10 NBA NJ Nets (+) Toronto Raptors Loss
1/13 NBA Portland Trailblazers (-) Cleveland Cavaliers Win
1/14 CBB Vanderbilt (+) Kentucky Loss
That is 3-3-1 ATS. Not great, but you made it sound like the free plays went 0-7 ATS.
Perhaps you should get yourself a monitor and show the world how great you are doing. Trackpicks does it for $30 a month.
