  • 4breakout-I see-now we are using the short term criterion rather than the longer term one with simply a percentage stated.
What you didn't mention is how many games does that comprise?
What is really remarkable about Memphis is that her outstanding percentage is based on well over 900 games.
Although admittedly I did not play all of them you have to admit that 558-367 is truly amazing.
My point is that there are VERY few services which can justify their cost over a long extended period of time-I don't mean a week or even a month or two.
As stated before all of this conversation may not mean much, because I am thoroughly convinced that simply judging by the thousands who check into this thread daily to get the picks for nothing from the paid cappers, it is not a question of IF most will go the way of the dinosaur but a question of WHEN.
I would put the over/under that by 1/2006 at the latest most paid services as we know them will either be out of business or struggling bigtime. I would play the under(before 1/2006).
This does not even take account the fact that the more people who read this thread and find out that most of the cappers really suck, the less likely it is that in time anyone would pay in any event.
The services are doomed no matter how you look at it.

This thread has over 15k hits. I don't know how many individual members have viewed this thread. Excluding newbies, IMO a very small percentage of the members consistantly play the service selections that are posted.

I would rather play the selection posted by a member than any service selection.

We are entering the realm of the absurd here regarding the number of hours of sleep per Al McMordie claims to require nightly.

I reiterate: whether or not he sleeps 4 hours and whether or not you or I believe him, what possible difference could it make? I am either going to cash a ticket or I'm not, regardless.

I once read that Frank Sinatra claimed to only need 4 hours of sleep per night. Whether he did or not, and whether or not I choose to believe he did, would I get any more or less enjoyment from listening to his music???

There are scores of scammers out there trying their best to separate people from their money through illegitimate means -- those are the ones you should be going after. Al McMordie is not one of them, by any reasonable standard. Neither is Northcoast, but the bashing continues. Sorry, I don't get it.

                    • Boy if Texas SportsWire leads any monitoring service with that record, I would hate to see what the guy in last place has for a record.
Re: 20 hours of sleep a night for Big (and probably very tired) Al, all I can say is that #1) I don't believe the claim;2)I would assure you there is no correlation between how much time one spends handicapping and results (that is within reason-in other words 20 hours of capping a day doesn't necessarily result in better results than someone who caps say just a few hours a day).
I assure you the successful syndicates that Brian Mac follow don't have to spend 20 hours a day capping to come up with good results.
Very importanly I would also equate someone who spends 20 hours a day capping with someone who overstudies for a final exam in college;sometimes knowing too much can be obstacle and allows you to see the trees but not the forest;there is in short a point of diminishing returns when it comes to capping, and I would say if Al really does cap that many hours a day or even 1/2 of that, he is overdoing it.

savage you asked for one that can beat memphis i produced.

                        also somemore numbers for tsw

number 1 this year in basketball
                        number 1 the past decade
And while your at it get a 956 game sample to work with cause these cherry pickin services couldnt hold a candle to my " very select " selections that run about 73 % " not " 63% as stated above .

@ 562 - 367 - 27 YTD / ATS and keep in mind thats almost every game one can play so far. They would not dare to try that , not on your life ! Almost 200 games over .500 will pay the bills and produce a fine hit % and I would venture to say that most of these guys havent hung thier asses over the line for 956 games in twenty years , much less one.

Sorry didnt mean to butt-in , but happened to see my name and thought I would set the record straight !

                        • Memphis- I am glad you set the record straight.
I was just thinking that maybe that from now on services looking for attention instead of alluding to their inflated records(which most people believe is bs anywyays) should try a new tact: How about number of hours spent handicapping a day.
I can see it now: a service calling itself ther "We Never Sleep Service" will point to the "fact" that they cap 21 hours a day(and thus exceeding the 20 hours claimed by Big Al) ,and therefore they are the best.
This of course will start the competition going, and before you know it, in the same manner that you hear about 100 million star locks(Big Green Machine), you will hear a service calling itself the "24 hour a Day Service" claiming that at least one of its cappers is capping every minute of the day, 365 days a year to give you 100 million angles on every game on the board;it will also state that under no conditions will any of its cappers be allowed more than 2 hours of sleep a night.
To change the subject perhaps Mike Schmidt can remind Big Al to take some of his winnings from his GOY today and go out and purchase an alarm clock in the "unlikely; event that he might doze off and/or oversleep;heaven forbid if he should get 4 hours and 15 minutes of sleep rather than the self imposed "4 hours" he claims.
Well folks the best bet left on the board for tonight is that I am going to put a rented movie on right now;believe it or not, some of us including myself and unlike Big Al, have another life to live.
I am sure as I am enjoying this movie, Big Al will already be arduously starting to gather all of the zillion stats and trend and beginning his 20 hour shifts daily in order to give us all the SuperBowl Lock.
Goodnight to all, and to Big Al and Marc Lawrence don't spend too much time gathering facts on the 1985 Superbowl loss of the Pats to the Bears'it really doesn't have too much relevance oin what will transpire two weeks from now.

Ok, now ask him which book he actually owns. I know Spiro and which books that he owns and he does own that one. I haven't been to TSW site nor know the domain name, but he does own a sportsbook.

                              • Someone had better go wake up Big Al, as he has now slept for 4 hours and 5 minutes, which is more than his allotted 4 hours per day.
