    Dogpick-to answer your questions.
First I am not what you call a heavy hitter by any means, and having just retired in my fifties, I derive most of my income from stocks, dividends, etc.
You might say I bet, watch and monitor the services and chat on line as a hobby.
While knowledgeable about sports and especially baseball, my first love by far, I am a lousy handicapper on my own and the first to admit it;that is why I look for folks who are good at this.
When I am disciplined I do ok, but sometimes when I go off on my own and/or listen to too many folks(e.g. they all agree on a game and I play it anyways, which is a no-no), I get into trouble.
Re: Brian Mac, he has done well with his syndicate plays, which he obtains and gives out to his customers;whether he pays for them or not, I don't know;ask Brian.
The folks you mention-Mac, the Manager, Jigsaw, , etc.comprise his service.
He is not cheap nor expensive.
Incidentally, the East Coast comp. line 313-4382270, while not giving out a free pick every day, is hitting over 60% on freebies(usually the Manager, Jigsaw, or Brian Mac) himself will give out the pick, and I personally call every day to see if there is a pick for that day(they lost last night with SMU).
    Hope above helps.

      60%?

      Savage:

For what length of time has Brian Mac been hitting 60% on his comp line? That sounds pretty high for any length of time. If you just played his comp plays at 60% and he actually hit that figure over several months you could retire in your 40s instead of your 50s . Could you just post the free comp pick every day since you already call?

Dogpick-I will try to post it when there is one.
For the record the picks are 112-71 or .612%(that is the truth believe me) and at manager's website, where he claims he posts a free pick every day(there wasn't one yesterday) www.managerusa.com) he is 28-13 or 68.2%.
As stated I don't always follow my own advice and sometimes am pigheaded;there have been days where I disagree with the pick and don't play it; I won't play the opposite side either which at least saves me money as more times than not it is right and I am wrong.
I think by far the best two folks to go with here are Memphis Mafia, hitting well over 60% in baskets(truly amazing considering the volume of games she gives out) and ez winners who plays fewer games but is very consistent.
I mentioned others in a previous post who are also very good;my problem is that I am not disciplined enough to play ONLY the good capper's picks and threw my own sh-t in there which more times than not hurts.

          Savage:

Thanks. I have never called a comp line because I am on the do not call list. I don't want any telemarketers contacting me, and I think they would if I started calling comp lines. If you just post the play then I will play it, and I will also be retired soon at 60% . Also, FrankB would be able to monitor. Do you think there will be a comp pick today?

Dogpick-Brian Mac will NEVER resort to calling you or will any of his affiliates;that is not the way he operates.
Northcoast has two comp. lines which have also had tremenodus runs in the past;they also will NEVER call you.
The two Northcoast comp. numbers are 18004758168(football and basketball after football is pretty much over) and 18776619110(basketball community line);both are solid and consistent.

              Savage:

Since you call every day and you post so much could you just post Brian Mac's comp plays so we could check them out? I have seen his website and he claims that he is not monitored because ALL monitors are scams. I don't trust him just yet. If you post his comps and he consistently hits 60% then I will be more trusting. It just seems to me that any service worth anything would be monitored.

Dogpick-many times Brian Mac's picks are posted in service section for free;judge for yourself.
I know for a fact that his no limit plays, which many clamor for on this thread, are something like 14-3 of late.

dogpick, I don't advocate fading even losers like Marc Lawrence. His record at Sports Monitor was around 55%. If you fade him you'd be cashing the ticket only 45%. Big money loser. If my own selections were hitting 55% I'd be making money. Paying Marc for his selections at 55% I'd still make money but Marc would probably be making the same.

Savage and I both agree. It's the logic of Marc's selections that is troublesome. His reasoning is a JOKE!

IMO! I think services survive because there's another sucker around the corner. Gamblers are looking for an easy score. They've been led to believe they'll score with service picks. This forum has opened my eyes and the eyes of so many others just how bad many of the services are.

of course he's a 'nice' guy. The guy is trying to sell his service. He's not going to get many customers if he comes across as a scumbag.

I actually met Marc Lawrence at WHK back in 1994. We used to have him on for an hour on Fridays during football and he'd talk games with some callers. I remember meeting him and thinking, "This guy really believes his bullshit". He seemed like an actor, and in fact I thought those pics you saw in some of his ads were of an actor until I met him. He actually isn't a bad handicapper, but "not bad" isn't worth paying for, now is it?
Please don't question my record or I will leave!!!!

                            FrankB:

I guess I don't get it. The guy is hitting 55%, you admit that you would be making money if you played his selections, but you are faulting his logic? That doesn't make sense. Maybe his write-ups could be better or he just gives a write-up to make the pick look better. Nonetheless, it is pretty hard to fault the man if you admit he picks 55% winners and concede that you would be making money if you followed him. I thought the bottom line was the final score. I mean, even if the guy is just consistently 55% "lucky" despite some flawed logic, is that not reason enough to follow his selections even though he might be the most illogical person on the planet? Holy cow, when I was following this thread I would have guessed the guy hit about 30% based upon the level of the bashing he has taken. 55 percent does not seem like a loser to me.

55% from a proclaimed expert sucks. The point I was trying to make. If I hit 55% I'd be making money. Not much but I'd be in the black. When I pay for any service I don't expect mediocre service. If I go to a restaurant and get get lousy service I'll tip less.

It's not how he write his logic. It's the login itself.

I found these 2 incredible 100% systems for tonights Spurs/Pacers contest. The Spurs are an amazing 27-0 since 1999 when they win SU as a road dog. The Pacers are 0-38 when they lose SU as a home favorite. The systems combined are 65-0.

This is the shit he sells. His logic is NOT handicapping. Of course when teams win SU they will be 75% ATS winners

He gives gamblers a false sense of a certain WINNER!

Honestly, I wouldn't play his selections if they were free. They are that bad. I cringe when he's on the same side as on of my own selections.

One more point! I was a client of Marc's about 10-12 years ago. I can tell you with complete certainty. If you were a client of his and he was hitting 55% you would be an unsatisfied customer.
