I agree that the marketing is a bit much. Remember, I was just surprised to hear that he actually wins more than he loses because this thread has done nothing but bash him.
about one of the better cappers out there, Mark Lawrence. The games that he gives out on the 900 numbers are not his service plays. The newsletter that he puts out, is made up one week before the games are played. You geniuses who call many comp phones for a pick, are the same ones who complain about about losing night after night. You only get what you pay for which is "0." M. Lawrence is going to play the Eagles this weekend, and a trip to the big dance. After Sunday, the same geniuses will be stating how great he is. Good luck Mark.
The relevant question is not what his playoff record this year is, but what is his record over all sports since the inception of his service. If he hits 55%, then he is good. What makes you think a 3* NFL playoff games is any more important than a 3* NBA game that goes sometime in February. If you are playing more on one game than the other you might be losing money just because you wanted to watch the pick on TV.
Read the entire thread. He was 0-4 last weekend. All not in NFL. The plays I comment about are not from his free phone selection. Most are his guaranteed selections.
Read this thread regaring his newsletter. His newsletter has glaring errors that are inexcusable. He had the stats on the wrong team.
Read this thread! I've posted when he's won. Lately, very rare!
If we are posting the incorrect plays feel free to post his selections for the past week.
Finally, IMO Marc is NOT a handicapper. He's a salesman. He finds BS meaningless trends and sells his picks as sure winners.
Dogpick, personally anyone selling their service I think 55% sucks. I wouldn't pay for them.
You stated that Marc hits 55%. I have my doubts about that, but if we assume that it is true can you find me any handicapper that is documented as better over time? I am not talking about since the New Year. How about we use the calendar year 2003? I challenge you to find a documented handicapper that hit 55% in all sports in the year 2003 that released a reasonable number of plays. Did any of the veterans on this site such as MM or EZ winners do that? Those guys (and girls) are good, but I bet they did not hit 55% in all sports. If Marc hits 55% then he deserves every penny he gets paid. Just state the name of the handicapper and show the proof. I don't think you will find more than a couple if any at all. Remember, we are talking ALL sports.
I'm not sure if we agree or disagree. We agree there's probably very few scamdicappers that hit 55%. We certainly do disagree that a scamdicapper deserves every penny if they are hitting 55%.
I agree that it would be very difficult to hit 60% in every sport. I do think someone can do so in all sports combined. Personally, I don't handicap college sports. Too many games! Too many teams! At times I hardly have enough time to handicap the NBA.
I don't know if Marc wins 55%. I was using that as a point of reference.
So he probably is below 55% if you include his college football record, and he did not even release that many selections. Did you find anyone that did 55% in all sports?
Honestly, I think that 60% over time is asking way too much. I have watched the monitors at several sites and I don't think I have ever seen anyone hit 60% in all sports for any lengthy period of time. I mean, I don't just want to win today but I want my bankroll to increase over time. My guess is that 55% would probably be about the limit for the very best handicappers over time. I will check ********* later to see how the contest pickers over there have done. I think EZ winners is one of the guys that is tracked there, so it might be interesting to see his percentage because I think he is about as good as you will find in all sports.
