Loyola-Chi is playing its first MVC game here; Ramblers are 4-7 vs D-I teams, despite not playing a team ranked above #167. #69 Indiana State makes 43.8% of 3's (#3 in US); they've won five of their last six games, are 4-0 vs teams ranked outside top 200, winning by 9-18-9-20 points. Sycamores are 4-0 at home, winning by 9-11-20-12 points.
UNLV won its last six games, but only road game of five was at woeful Southern Utah; Rebels' other road game was encouraging 63-58 loss to Arizona. UNLV got swept by Fresno St. LY, 64-55/61-52, in Bulldogs' first year in Mountain West. Fresno is playing first D-1 game in last 11 days- they lost last three D-I games by 11+ points- they're 0-5 vs D-I teams, with all five losses by 10+ points.
Harvard won its last five games with Boston College, with all five wins by 9+ points- they won last two by 16-21 points. BC was 0-5 vs D-I teams in December; they're 0-4 on road, with three losses by 10+ points. Harvard won its last seven games; they force turnovers 20.2% of time, make 36.9% of 3's. Bad omen for ACC team to be double digit dog to an Ivy League team.
SMU holds opponents to 38.8% inside arc, #1 in US; they've won last five games, with 8-point road wins at UIC/Wyoming. Mustangs are 0-2 vs top 100 teams, losing by 11-3 points to Arkansas/Virginia. Cincy is 10-0 at home; they grab 44% of own missed shots (#2 in US), force TOs 25% of time (#6)- they're 3-2 vs top 100, losing to New Mexico/Xavier.
Old Dominion-Wm&Mary were CAA rivals until this year; Monarchs got swept by W&M LY, by 12-9 points, after winning its previous nine against Tribe. ODU lost seven of last eight games- they turn ball over 20.6% of time, make just 58.4% of time (5th-worst in US). Tribe lost by 37 to West Virginia Sunday; they're 5-2 vs teams outside the top 200.
10-2 Utah State won its last five games; they're 2-0 on road, winning at UCSB by 7, Weber State by 6- they didn't play any December games on road. Aggies make 42.9% of 3's (#6 in US)- this is their first D-I game in 11 days. Air Force is 0-2 vs top 100 teams, losing by 23-24 points to Colorado/Richmond- they're turning ball over 21.3% of time.
Drake won four of last five games with Evansville, winning last three at home by 18-24-14 points. Bulldogs are 4-1 at home, with only loss in OT to New Mexico State. Evansville lost six of last eight games- they're 1-4 vs top 100 teams, losing by 31-22-3-9 points. Aces are 1-4 on road, with last two road losses by total of 2-3 points- their only road win was at IUPUI, 84-78.
Northern Iowa won four in row, seven of last eight games with Bradley, beating them three times LY, including 90-77 win here in CIT. Panthers are 3-0 at home vs D-I teams, winning by 5-9-12 points. Bradley lost its last six games, with four of six losses by 6 or less points; they're 0-3 in true road games, losing by 26-12-6 points, making just 28.1% on arc.
5-5 Temple lost 75-69 at Towson in its only true road game; they're 2-4 in games decided by 7 or less points- this is Owls' first game in 11 days. Rutgers is 0-4 vs top 100 teams, losing by 3-11-6-5 points; they're 6-7 despite playing 11 of 13 games at home against #323 schedule. Knights are playing for first time in 10 days; their best win is #134 Canisius.
Home side won last four San Diego State-Colorado State games; Aztecs lost last two visits here, by 17-6 points, their only two losses in last 14 series games, but Aztecs won 65-64 at crosstown rival San Diego in only true road game so far this season. Rams are playing 10th home game in a row; they're 9-2 at home, losing to Colorado by 5, Denver by 10.
Nevada won its last 11 games with San Jose State, winning last four here by 23-4-8-6 points, but Wolf Pack lost six of last eight overall, with one of wins at home in OT vs #319 Cal-Davis. Opponents are making 55% of 2-point shots vs Nevada. San Jose is 4-6 vs D-I teams, with triple OT win vs Cal-Davis in last D-I game- they also won at Houston, which beat UConn last night.
Charleston-Davidson were conference rivals until this year, and will be again next year, but aren't this year; Davidson beat Cougars three times LY, including 74-55 in SoCon title game. Charleston lost last four visits here, by 15-11-18-9 points. Davidson lost its last four games, is 1-2 at home, losing to Drexel/Milwaukee- their defensive eFG% is #336 in US.
