Unbeatens to Watch

The college basketball regular season started on Friday, Nov. 8, which has provided a nice sample for bettors to analyze. When you consider that there are 351 schools in college basketball, the most logical way to determine the early contenders is by record.

Even though it’s still early season, there are 14 schools that remain unbeaten.

The Big Ten, ACC and Pac-12 are the only conferences to have multiple teams with perfect records.

Villanova is the only member of the new-look Big East to be undefeated but if it wasn't for realignment, the conference would have four (Pittsburgh, Syracuse, UConn).

Other major conferences with one remaining unbeaten team are the SEC (Missouri) and Big 12 (Iowa State).

Of the five mid-major squads, Toledo is probably the biggest surprise. The Rockets haven't played a tough schedule and three of their nine wins came by three points or less.

If you're looking for one of the schools to remain unscathed, you might want to check out Wichita State. The Shockers play at Alabama this week (Dec. 17) before conference play starts at the end of the month. Also, the Missouri Valley Conference doesn't have to deal with Creighton anymore since it departed for the Big East.
