                ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Fullcourt press: Monday's NBA betting news and notes
                ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Memphis Grizzlies at Washington Wizards (+3, 181.5)

The Grizzlies have won three of their last four and 17 of 21 after a 110-106 win over Boston on Saturday. The Wizards have won five in a row at the Verizon Center and five of their last seven overall. The under is 6-1 in the Grizzlies’ last seven overall.

Miami Heat at Orlando Magic (+12.5, 198)

The Miami Heat have not lost since Feb. 1, but one of their closest calls during their spectacular 26-game winning streak was a one-point home victory over the Orlando Magic on March 6. Dwyane Wade (knee) sat out Sunday's mauling of Charlotte and is questionable. The injury-riddled Magic are mired in a six-game losing streak and have dropped 21 of 25 games since Miami last tasted defeat. The home team is 5-1 ATS in the last six meetings.

Atlanta Hawks at Indiana Pacers (-7.5, 186.5)

Indiana has been without David West (back) for the last four games and Danny Granger (knee) for 10 straight, robbing the team of its two veteran leaders. The Hawks will try to take advantage of West’s absence with Al Horford and Josh Smith down low. Indiana took a 114-103 decision from the Hawks at home on Feb. 5. Atlanta had taken four straight meetings before the loss on Feb. 5, including the first two this season. The Pacers are 0-5 ATS in their last five games vs. a team with a winning record.

Denver Nuggets at New Orleans Hornets (+7, 202)

While their position near the bottom of the Western Conference standings implies one thing, the Hornets are not an easy out right now. They have won two in a row and are a respectable 11-8 at home in 2013 after solid wins over Boston and Memphis. The Nuggets have matched a franchise record with 15 straight wins. Guard Ty Lawson (heel) has missed two straight games but did practice Sunday and is listed as probable for this one. He had 21 points and 13 assists in Denver's 113-98 win over New Orleans in the previous meeting Feb. 1. The over is 8-1-1 in the Nuggets’ last 10 road games.

                Philadelphia 76ers at Utah Jazz (-7, 192.5)

Philadelphia halted a 15-game road losing streak with a 117-103 victory in Sacramento on Sunday night. It was the Sixers' first win away from home since New Year's Day. Utah has lost four straight overall and 12 of 15 after completing a three-game winless trek through Texas with a 113-108 defeat in Dallas on Sunday night. The Jazz have won six consecutive home games against Philadelphia and the home team is 6-0 ATS in the last six meetings overall.

Los Angeles Lakers at Golden State Warriors (-1, 204)

Golden State is clinging to a half-game lead over the Rockets for the No. 6 spot but appears to have dodged a bullet when Curry downplayed a right ankle sprain that forced him out in the fourth quarter of Saturday’s 101-92 win over Washington. Curry is expected to suit up vs. the Lakers. Los Angeles has dropped back-to-back games to two of the worst teams in the league but has taken six straight in the series, including a 118-115 overtime victory at Golden State on Dec. 22. The over is 5-0 in the Lakers’ last five games following a loss.

                  ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Around the rink: Monday's NHL betting notes
                  ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Toronto Maple Leafs at Boston Bruins (-184, 5.5)

Probable starting goaltenders: James Reimer (TOR), Tuukka Rask (BOS)

Maple Leafs forward Joffrey Lupul will return to the lineup after serving a two-game suspension for his hit on Tampa Bay defenseman Victor Hedman. Lupul had been playing well prior to the ban, recording three goals and an assist in two games after being sidelined for 25 with a broken forearm. The Bruins are limping home after mustering just six goals during a 1-3-0 road trip. The under is 7-0-2 in Boston’s last nine overall.

New Jersey Devils at Ottawa Senators (-131, 5)

Probable starting goaltenders: Martin Brodeur (NJ), Ben Bishop (OTT)

The New Jersey Devils will attempt to extend their point streak against the Ottawa Senators to six games. New Jersey is 3-0-2 in its last five meetings with Ottawa, including a shootout loss at home on Feb. 18. The Devils posted their second straight victory Saturday, defeating the Florida Panthers 2-1 but losing star forward Ilya Kovalchuk for two to four weeks with a right shoulder injury. Ottawa has earned points in eight of its last nine home games (7-1-1).

Los Angeles Kings at Chicago Blackhawks (-133, 5)

Probable starting goaltenders: Jonathan Quick (LAK), Corey Crawford (CHI)

Mired in a scoring drought of 126 minutes, 14 seconds, the Kings will look to get their offense going when they open a five-game road trip at the United Center. After winning the first three contests of its five-game homestand, Los Angeles finished with a thud - getting blanked by both Dallas and Vancouver. The Blackhawks vie for a season sweep of the Kings on Monday. Chicago wasn't rattled after Los Angeles raised its Stanley Cup banner in a 5-2 triumph in the season opener before posting a 3-2 victory on Feb. 17. The over is 5-1 in the Blackhawks’ last six overall.

Edmonton Oilers at Nashville Predators (-140, 5)

Probable starting goaltenders: Devan Dubnyk (EDM), Pekka Rinne (NSH)

The Predators are 8-2-4 at home, where Pekka Rinne has started every game and has a 1.67 goals-against average and .935 save percentage. The Oilers have been shut out three times in March, but their power play remains productive - scoring six times in the last 20 opportunities. The under is 5-0 in Edmonton’s last five Monday games.

Minnesota Wild at Dallas Stars (-111, 6)

Probable starting goaltenders: Niklas Backstrom (MIN), Kari Lehtonen (DAL)

The Dallas Stars continue their five-game homestand - and begin the post-Brenden Morrow era - when they host the Minnesota Wild on Monday. One day after climbing into a playoff spot in the Western Conference, Dallas traded its long-time captain to the Pittsburgh Penguins on Sunday. Minnesota has won only three of its last 22 visits to Dallas and each of the last two meetings have been 1-0 decisions at the Xcel Energy Center, with each club claiming a victory. The Wild are 5-0 in their last five overall and 4-0 in their last four road contests.

Detroit Red Wings at Phoenix Coyotes (-135, 5)

Probable starting goaltenders: Jonas Gustavsson (DET), Jason LaBarbera (PHX)

Detroit is rolling on special teams. The Red Wings' power play has registered at least a goal in each of the last seven games and their penalty kill has only yielded two goals in 18 opportunities. The Coyotes are winless in their last five games (0-4-1) and have managed only three goals in that span. Starting goaltender Mike Smith left Thursday’s 2-1 loss to Vancouver after being hit by Daniel Sedin and is considered day-to-day. The Red Wings have won four straight road games.

San Jose Sharks at Anaheim Ducks (-130, 5)

Probable starting goaltenders: Antti Niemi (SJ), Viktor Fasth (ANA)

Anaheim had its franchise-record 13-game home winning streak snapped by Detroit on Friday and lost to the Red Wings at the Honda Center again two days later. One of the highest-scoring teams in the league, the Ducks were held to one goal in each of the setbacks. The Sharks have lost eight of their last 10 meetings with the Ducks and five of their last six visits to Anaheim. The over is 4-1 in Anaheim’s last five home games.
