  • NCAA GOY for Saturday 11/20

I am throwing this out now becauseI think the line goes up by Saturday.

Tennessee -9 over Vanderbilt. I will post more info on this game as the week goes on. Bottom line is Vanderbilt is horrible. Tennessee just hung 50+ points on Ol Miss and Memphis in back to back games. I know neither one is Ohio State but never the less 50 points is 50 points. I think Derek Dooley finally has himself a QB in Tyler Bray a freshman. In the last 2 games he has thrown for 648 yards, 8 TDs and no turnovers. Vandy's passing defense is ranked 95th out of 120 schools.

Vanderbilt's QB on the other hand is Larry Smith, who may be the worse D1 QB in the country. Vandy is averaging 18 points per game with him under center. For his career at Vandy which covers 3 years and 480 passes he has a completion % of 48% with 11 TDs and 12 INTs and 2500 yards. His running skills are no better. For his career he has 479 yards in 196 carries for an average of 2.4 yds per carry. Honestly I have no idea why he is their QB.

Here is the final kicker. Tennessee is 4-6 with 2 games left. Despite stinking most of the year they still have a shot to go to a bowl but they need a win against Vandy and a win at home next week against Kentucky. Both are very winnable games. The game is at Vandy but since both schools are in Tennessee there should be a good contingent of Tennessee fans in attendance. Wil update the thread as the week goes on.

Vandy has alot of injury issues is probablly why Smith is starting May not be a bad call here. However this game is Vandys Bowl game Tennessee better be up for it

As I stated Tennessee needs this game and the next one to become bowl eligible. I don;t care how Vandy views this game. Nothing makes up for having a horrible team

Latest info--As I stated before Vandy's passing offense is horrible ranking 113th out of 120, however their run offense did rush for 200 yards against KY. last week, but they still lost by 18. Tennessee's defense has also stepped up in the last 2 games allowing Memphis 64 yards rushing and Ole Miss. 99 yards rushing while picking off 7 passes the last 2 games. I really don't see how Vanderbilt keeps it close unless Tennessee completely shoots themselves in the foot with numerous turnovers. I think Tennessee wins this game by 25 points or more.

IMO this line stinks though. Vandy hasnt stayed within DD of anyone worth a lick in over 2 months and UT is coming off b2b 36 and 38 point wins.

I won't back Vandy here but no way I back UT. Just throwing it out there so give another angle/perspective.

With that said I hope UT wins going away for you.

            PEACE

Pimp, thanks for the well wishes. I agree that when I first saw the line I thought it was a mistake but the more and more I dug into this game the more convinced I am that Tennessee is gonna roll. If Tennessee wasn't playing for a bowl I could see them possibly sleepwalking through this game but since their bowl hopes are alive I think they will definitely be up for it. I took KY. last week against Vandy pretty big and I listened to the whole game on XM radio. KY won by 18 but it could and should have been a lot worse. Ky's DB dropped 2 or 3 sure interceptions deep in Vandy's territory. KY also had a 2nd down and goal on the Vandy 1 and didn't score. Point is they could have easily lost by 30 or more points. From what I heard Vandy's QB is horrible. Whenever he had an incomplete pass the announcers made comments like that one wasn't even close or Ky should have intercepted that one or he's got to keep the ball in the field of play if he want to complete a long pass. Hope I have this one pegged correctly. I will be shocked if Vandy covers this one.

Final bit of info on this game Tennessee is 12-1 in the last 13 games against Vandy winning their last 5 visits to Vandy by an average score of 33-16. In home games over the last 3 years when the total is between 45-49 Vandy is 4-11 ATS. Finally against conference opponents Vandy is 1-6 ATS this year.

It is Vandy's bowl game EVERY year and they ALWAYS lose it.
Tenbnessee dominates this game. Vandy is as bad as ever this year and Tennessee is trying to salvage its season. I like th pick and am playing it myself

Only thing that worries me is Ive rode the Vols the last 2 weeks since Bray took over cha ching. Oh he is the man and TENN is my team. TENN has crazy weapons on offense now, because they have a QB to get them the ball. Our Oline is a little weak, thats the only concern. Our D has showed up the last 2 games. I don't see Vandy holding the Vols under 40 points at all. 2 years boys watch out. Bray, Hunter, Rogers will all be juniors, the Arnett kid we just picked up #6 rated WR in HS will be sophomore and he will be in slot complimenting Rogers and Hunter. All of our Olinemen will be juniors and seniors by then.

Vols are turning it around, you guys better take notice

GL Im throwing money on them for the 3rd straight week as well.

                            GO VOLS
