Patriots begin life without Randy Moss
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
BALTIMORE RAVENS (4-1)
at NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS (3-1)
Kickoff: Sunday, 1:00 p.m. EDT, Line: New England -3, Total: 44.5
Sunday’s game marks a rematch of last year’s wild card playoff game in Foxboro, which Baltimore scored on its first play from scrimmage (Ray Rice 83-yd TD run) and won handily, 33-14. The Ravens held the Patriots to 196 yards of offense and forced four turnovers in handing New England its first home playoff loss since 1978. Sunday also marks the Patriots first game without Randy Moss, who was traded for a draft pick last week. New England replaced them with Super Bowl XXXIX MVP Deion Branch.
The Ravens offense is finally starting to click. Joe Flacco has just one interception in three games since his 4-INT nightmare at Cincinnati. Rice’s knee finally looked healthy last week as he rushed for 133 yards and two touchdowns. The defense is also rolling. Baltimore has not allowed more than 17 points in any game and ranks second in the NFL in passing yardage (157 pass YPG allowed).
The Patriots secondary is certainly the team’s weak spot, surrendering 272 passing YPG this season (28th in NFL). And although New England has scored 38, 38 and 41 points in its three wins this season, the offense only ranks 11th in the NFL in yardage (344 YPG). Tom Brady leads the league in passer rating (109.0) with nine touchdowns and just two interceptions, but no longer has his deep threat in Moss. Baltimore will try to contain Wes Welker who has averaged an absurd 7.4 receptions per game in his 50 contests in a Patriots uniform. Branch had his best season in 2005, his last with New England, when he caught 78 passes for 998 yards a career-high five touchdowns. But Branch, who is only 31, has had three straight disappointing seasons in Seattle, totaling just 961 yards in 26 games.
Since moving from Cleveland, Baltimore has lost all five of its regular-season games against the Patriots. New England has won 11 straight home games in the regular season and has won seven in a row coming off a bye week. But this FoxSheets trend shows that Baltimore thrives in the underdog role.
BALTIMORE is 8-1 ATS as a road underdog of 3 points or less over the last three seasons.
The FoxSheets love the Under on Sunday.
NEW ENGLAND is 11-1 UNDER at home after a bye week since 1992.
BALTIMORE is 10-1 UNDER away vs. teams allowing 235+ passing yards/game since 1992.Remember the 3 G's Gambling, Golf, Girls not in any particular order.....

Bucs' best WR might not play vs. Saints
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
NEW ORLEANS SAINTS (3-2)
at TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS (3-1)
Kickoff: Sunday, 1:00 p.m. EDT, Line: New Orleans -4.5, Total: 43.5
Tampa Bay's top WR Mike Williams will be a game-time decision against the Saints. Williams has been limited in practice all week as he battles a foot injury.
******* take:
The rookie has improved his receiving yards in each of his four games (30, 54, 55 and 99), and is quickly becoming Josh Freeman’s go-to guy. Williams leads the team in targets (33), receptions (19), receiving yards (238) and touchdowns (three). The Bucs have been below average in all three offensive categories. They are 21st in scoring (18.5 PPG), 19th in passing (210 YPG) and 18th in rushing (104 YPG), so they can’t afford to lose their best receiver. With the Saints ranking seventh in pass defense (188 YPG), it could be tough afternoon for Freeman, who only has one TD toss in the past two games.
The Saints have lost their past four games ATS, but are 7-3 ATS in their past 10 games at Tampa Bay. Also, the road team is 11-3 ATS in the past 14 series meetings. This FoxSheets trend gives another reason to pick New Orleans.
NEW ORLEANS is 7-0 ATS (+7.0 Units) off a road loss over the last 3 seasons. The average score was NEW ORLEANS 35.1, OPPONENT 21.3 - (Rating = 2*).
The FoxSheets also like the Under.
Play Under - Home teams where the total is between 42.5 and 49 points (TAMPA BAY) - off 2 or more consecutive overs, in a game involving two average offensive teams (18-23 PPG). (44-16 since 1983.) (73.3%, +26.4 units. Rating = 3*).Remember the 3 G's Gambling, Golf, Girls not in any particular order.....
