I thought starting a thread might be a good idea so if people are interested in the stocks I am trading I can post my trades.

Today I bought a 1/4 position in NGEN at 6.50, it has really run over the last few days, thus the 1/4 position. Its a stock in that nanotech area..big bill going through to be signed by the Pres in the next few weeks.

When I buy stocks, they may be highly volitile and I usually try to get 10-20% returns. I do not swing for the fences, unless the fences get brought in on me without expectations.

Also viewing HLIT for a swing trade. I bought a 1/4 position at 8.15 yesterday, this one swings from 8 to 9 regularly.

Please do not put all your eggs in any one basket and use stops on your sales that fit your own needs. This to me means a 10-15% stop loss..it has worked well for me this year.

edit) Also eyeing IVAN- stock really hammered over the last few days..have an order in around 3.40 on a trade.

I will add to this thread as I place buy and sell orders.

Thanks for those, Wallstreet. I will keep them on watch
The stock I mentioned ipfs went from 1.60 where I purchased it to $3.00 in one trading day. I sold at $2.88.
Yesterday stock went back down to $1.86.
        I repurchased 1/2 position today at $1.89.
        Keep an eye on it.

          Savage,

Thanks for that info..I will have it on my list too!

          Update:

Purchased 1/4 position in HLIT at 8, this one I am not really afraid of..will keep adding to a full position.

Also a second order in on NGEN at 6.10, there is a conference this next week..will be much more careful with this one versus HLIT

edit) another stock that I traded for a nearly 50% quickie is getting near target price again. CPTH. Low float, runs crazy. If she gets to 1.75 area I will start puchasing accordingly.

Also, MRVC, time to put her back on the radar. She is a take-over candidate of JNPR, I like this stock in the low 3's..not there yet, but definately coming in nicely.

ALSO, IS THERE A GOOD PLACE FOR STOCK TIPS, THAT WONT GET ME IN TROUBLE, ON THE WEB THAT I CAN VISIT????

              Bugs,

No problem..somtimes I speak market language and I shouldnt.

Say you were going to purchase HLIT on my reccomendation..my normal trading position in this stock is 1000 shares..I have gone to 2k but that is rare. What I recommend is rather than buying all at once you purchase in 1/4's so in this case 250 shares at a time. Overall you will have your position in full, or not. I traded HLIT last week from 8.20 to 8.75 and only got a 1/2 position..but I would rather trade this way in partials than to throw it all in at one price. This is a lesson I learned the hard way.

Savage, nice day for IPFS, a 10% turn intra-day, I would take those profits, at least half and see how it goes?

                    Savage,

Did some DD on that one.. NENG and they have little to do with this line of technology..other than the name. I read up on this one and I would not go near it. I read that it is starting to be a short stock for the reasons mentioned. They are not part of this sector..but what do I know. I have missed so many boats it is pathetic.

Wallsteet-thanks. I know it is different;I just thought it funny the symbols were almost the same.
I have gtc order to sell 1/2 of ipfs at 2.10.
I have some biotechs with mixed results- astm-ahead; imnr-behind;cln ahead.
Any opinions on these or do you know of any better ones which aren't too expensive?
                      thanks

                        Savage,

Funny..I know two of those quite well. I traded IMNR years ago.. Immune Response..cold company. It seems like every flu season this stock wakes up. If not, it will trade literally nothing. How about a kick my a$$ stock like ONXX?? Geez, I traded this one tons of times at 5 bucks..now in the middle 20's??

ASTM is the bastard step child of stem cell research. Always the lesser of the runner of STEM and always the first to tank. Trade STEM if you want the action. I like the sector, but timing is critical. If Bush is talking about it, time to sell. Bad thing is the technology is fantastic, but since we are squeemish of how it comes about, it may never come to full fruition.

CLN I have seen, but dont know much about.

Keep an eye on MEDX, loves to base in the 5 area..buy in the 5 to high 4's and sell at 6.

I know way too many stocks..all of the speculative ones.

BOT the 1/4 position in NGEN at 6.10..gotta be careful with this one..seems like the sellers are coming in for lunch!!!

edit) Holy Crap BKNUZ just moved..this little guy is fun to trade for a penny or two..but dont get involved unless you read up on it. It is a trust stock for a bank litigation..cheap and crazy.

                            Mary,

Please if you buy SIRI make sure you buy lightly like mentioned above and dont let it drop too much on you.

I think SIRI goes under or gets bot out eventually. XMSR is the only survivor in the small group.

It is fun to trade though..

I bought TMAR at 1.07 the other day and it went up to 1.3 today - over 20%.

I bought PHAR at 1.07 today.
