    Art,

Nice hit on that TMAR. I try and stay away from OTC:BB stocks, you can get ripped a new one from the crafty market makers.

But how can you not like that kind of return????

    Congrats!

For those with a list..keep an eye on VTSS.. getting clobbered today..I like this one in one more day like today. In the 6 area.

These higher priced ones, say VTSS, HLIT, MRVC, these are stocks I have traded for 4-5 yrs and are winners..well survivors. These little baby ones we talk about are for the sensitive stomach purchasers.

Maybe Bettorschat should give us a category to post in..

          BRKR

Unsure, never heard of them. I looked it up and they are a biotech company, so they can be dicey. If you look at this chart:

          http://finance.yahoo.com/q/bc?s=BRKR...=on&z=m&q=l&c=

Looks like it has consolidated for almost 6 months in a 50 cent range. When a stock consolidates like this, a breakout one way or the other usually comes. I would purchase at the low end of the range..like 4.25 or so..looks like it has bumped on it 4 times in the last 6 months..so it would be semi support. Cant say I know enough to play it though.

            Art,

Was looking at the wrong ticker.

When I see 50 x 50 on the bid/ask it is always a BB..but wrong symbol. Great day for the stock..right at the high of the day!!!

            Congrats!

READ THIS AND BUY Stifel Nicolaus starts SIRI with a Strong Buy, XMSR with a Mkt Perform

Stifel Nicolaus initiates SIRI with Strong Buy rating and $4 target, and starts XMSR with a Mkt Perform; firm believes Sirius offers the best risk/reward scenario ($0 downside, but upside to $6-$8), and says the co has a more attractive valuation and opportunity to gain mkt share given its substantial manufacturer agreements and better balance sheet. Firm says XMSR benefits from a subscriber lead and more proven mgmt, but they think its valuation premium to SIRI is too high (firm would look to upgrade XMSR on a dip).

                  Mary,

I wouldnt purchase XMSR..ran way too much, but I also wouldnt purchase SIRI based on a single or actually any analyst recco's. I buy or dont buy based on other things than what those scammers say.

Analysts are like sports services..they have a history of putting the company's interest before the investor and will go to hell and back for a buck.

I made some pretty good money on siri a while back and actually listed it here at bettorschat I believe.
I am ambivalent about it right now, but xmsr is a much better company imho.
Actually, Cabot Market Letter(before I subscribed) recommended xmsr at 5 and they still like it.
I actually called Cabot just recently and asked about siri.
The analyst said in so many words that they were pretty much neutral on it at this point but stressed xmsr is much better(personally as Wallsteet said price is too extended for me;personally I think it is ok to dabble with siri but don't bet the ranch on it).
Wallstreet-thanks for insight on stocks I mentioned and for your overall take on things and your "picks."(stocks and sports).

                        Here's one

I'm not high on trading the cheap stocks like you are wallstreet, but here's one that has done really well this last year and is still poised for great growth in 2004....the stock is Eresearch Technology (symbol ERES). Just take a look at all the contracts they have signed recently and if you get a chance listen to their last conference call. The stock closed at 26.16 today. Besides buying and holding the stock, I will write covered calls on it as well.

A little background on myself. I've been investing since I've been 12 (currently 31) and I paid for all of my college (UW Madison) from my stock investments.

So far this year I'm up 255%.

I may not do well picking games (that's why I don't post my own plays that often), but I do well in the market. I just thought I would post a stock that I think will still do well.

                          Domanator,

You are very wise for investing in the larger stocks. The liklihood of problems are usually lower. I have a pulse on a few of the stocks I mentioned. I have traded HLIT and MRVC and VTSS going back to the late 1990's..when they were more like 80 instead of 8.

I have done quite well swing trading this year..I play conservative in one accout, that one is up over 50% and much crazier with another and that is up about 300% over the last year or so.

You are right though, it is smarter to purchase smaller ammts of higher quality stocks versus chasing the ones we are talking about.

I do want to stress highly the point of risk and diversity. The stocks I mention trading are high risk trading stocks..there is no guarantee and I am willing to take that risk. To those who are NOT willing to take a loss when you have to, and take a profit when you must, then get a nice index fund like the Vanguard 500. What I talk about is for the gambler/trader and you must have that mentality.

Welcome to this thread and bring all your ideas!

As for a more pricey stock, I think JBLU is getting attractive.

                            I need your help!

Let me know of what you think of these!

                            UDVE
                            NGEN
                            LBTT

I believe these are penny stocks. I was thinking of putting some money into these. I want to start out on these smaller stocks to gain more knowledge on stocks. Please let me know what you think! Thanks a lot

                              Allnight

                              I really dont like pennies..

I would play pennies with money you can lose 100% of and be ok.

Companies are on the Pink Sheets because they are NON compliant to the regulations that listed companies have to adhere to. They arent required to file earnings reports or be audited. To me it is a zoo that I dont go near very often.

Instead of buying 100,000 shares of that, buy 100 shares of a better stock.

It isnt fun and it isnt glamorous, but it is what I recommend!

                                Good advice Wallstreet.
As much as I like to fool around with these penny stocks on occasion, my real serious money in invested in real good established companies with visible earnings and sustained growth.
