Question in this game is will Hawks compete, after losing the first three games in series by 43-14-30 points? Orlando won six of seven games vs Hawks this year, with no losses by less than 14 points. Magic are 7-0 in playoffs, with only one of the wins by less than eight points. Johnson was 3-15 from floor in Game 3, while starting frontcourt for Magic was 19-30 (63.3%). Johnson's ripping home crowd doesn't help Hawks any.

Lakers won six of seven vs Utah this season; all three series games went over the total. Jazz played hearts out in Game 3 but came up one point short, as Matthews' deficiency as a shooter (2-11, 0-6 from arc) proved costly. Korver scored 23 points on 10 shots to keep Utah in it. Jazz are 3-1 at home in playoffs; Lakers 2-2 on road. Eevery LA starter other than Bynum made at least half his shots in Game 3 win.

Total of only 14 goals were scored in last four Canadien-Penguin games, with all four games staying under total; Pittsburgh is 4-1 on road so far in playoffs- they were outshot 31-15 in third period of last two games. Orlando Magic at Atlanta Hawks [TNT | 8:00 PM ET]

Magic (-5.5, O/U 193): Orlando is easily the most dominant team in the playoffs, as they are beating a good Atlanta team by an average of 29 PTS in this series. Orlando had 5 players score in double figures in Game 3, as they shot an efficient 50% from the field as a team. C Dwight Howard had another great game, as he had 21 PTS and 15 rebounds in Game 3. Orlando has yet to lose in the postseason, and if recent form is any indication they might not lose at all. Orlando has been dominant in nearly every game they've played during the playoffs. The Magic haven't lost in over a month, April 2nd to San Antonio to be exact. The Magic have won all 13 of their games since then, and appear to be on a mission for a return trip to the NBA Finals. Orlando has been so consistent this season, as it's been 4 months since the Magic lost consecutive games. Orlando is 66-23 SU and 52-35-2 ATS overall this season. The Magic are 28-16 SU and 24-17-3 ATS in road contests this season. The Magic are 9-5 ATS as a road favorite between 3.5 and 6 PTS this season.

Magic is 6-0 ATS last 6 games vs. a team with a winning SU record.
Under is 9-3 last 12 road games vs. a team with a home winning % of greater than .600.

                          Key Injuries - None.

PROJECTED SCORE: 106 (OVER - Total of the Day)

Hawks: Atlanta is 48 minutes away from vacation time, as they are down 3-0 to the Magic. The Hawks really need to win a few games to avoid the possibility of their team being broken up in the offseason. Coach Woodson and G Joe Johnson potentially will be involved in their final game as Hawks today. Atlanta wants to avoid being swept out of the 2nd Round for the 2nd year in a row. Atlanta only scored 75 PTS in Game 3, ultimately losing by 30 PTS. Johnson only scored 8 PTS in Game 3, as he was completely non-existent on the floor. Atlanta shot worse than 35%, and only had 9 assists as a team in Game 3. The Hawks are 57-35 SU and 52-40 ATS overall this season. Atlanta is 37-9 SU and 28-18 ATS in home games this season. The Hawks are 8-4 ATS after losing a game by double figures this year. Atlanta is also 8-2 ATS after scoring 85 PTS or fewer in their previous game.

Hawks are 0-5 ATS last 5 games as an underdog.
Under is 5-0 last 5 games as a home underdog.

                          Key Injuries - None.

Los Angeles Lakers at Utah Jazz [TNT | 10:30 PM ET]

Lakers: Los Angeles is 1 win away from joining the Phoenix Suns in the Western Conference Finals. The Lakers could be extra motivated tonight, after watching the Suns sweep the Spurs and earn some potential rest depending on how many games this series goes. G Kobe Bryant has stated that the Lakers killer instinct is back after their grueling series with the Thunder. F Pau Gasol and C Andrew Bynum are averaging more than 32 PTS and 21 RPG combined during the playoffs. This duo really helps Bryant offensively, as Bryant has other capable scorers he can depend on. Bryant is averaging more than 26 PPG so far in the post-season. The Lakers are 25-20 SU and 20-24-1 ATS on the road this season. Los Angeles is 6-8 ATS as the listed underdog this season, including 3-7 ATS as a road underdog of 3 PTS or fewer. The Lakers are also 13-17 ATS in games after they've had 3 or more consecutive SU wins.

Lakers are 2-6 ATS last 8 road games vs. a team with a home winning % of greater than .600.
Under is 12-5 in Lakers last 17 games as a road underdog.

Key Injuries - G Sasha Vujacic (ankle) is questionable.

                          PROJECTED SCORE: 97

Jazz (-2.5, O/U 207): Utah has played the Lakers tough in all three games this series, yet have come away with nothing. The Jazz have lost all 3 games thus far by a combined 14 PTS, proving just how close this series has truly been. The Jazz simply need to get over the hump, and they're hoping that facing elimination will do the trick. PG Deron Williams continues to be dynamic in the playoffs, as he's leading the team with 25 PPG and more than 10 APG. F Andrei Kirilenko is back for Utah, as he played a solid 17 minutes in Game 3. Kirilenko had 8 PTS and 6 rebounds while playing sound defense against the Lakers. G Kyle Korver is certain to get more playing time after scoring 23 PTS on 9 of 10 shooting in Game 3. Utah is 35-10 SU and 29-14-1 ATS in home games this season. The Jazz are 5-1 ATS as a home favorite of 3 PTS or fewer this season. Utah is 20-7 ATS after allowing their opponent to score 105 PTS in their previous game.

Jazz are 20-6 ATS last 26 games following an ATS loss.
Over is 7-0 last 7 games following a SU loss.

                          Key Injuries - None.

PROJECTED SCORE: 108 (Side of the Day)

                              Monday's six-pack

-- Gas is $3.09 a gallon, as greedy bastards who own the oil companies continue to thumb their noses at us. I hope they rot in hell.

-- Robin Roberts once threw 28 consecutive complete games-- guess the Phillies didn't pinch-hit for their pitchers much.

-- Juan Uribe walked his first four times Sunday; the fifth time he was up, he got drilled in the back by a pitch. He might be the worst player ever to get on base five times in a game without getting a hit.

-- Miami Heat have banned their players' wives from appearing on the reality show Basketball Wives. If you've seen it, you'll know why.

-- Milwaukee Brewers are 10-8 on the road, but just 4-8 at home.

-- Alex Rodriguez is making $33M this year; thats $203,703.70 a game. Dallas Braden is making $460,000. For the whole season.

                              ************************************************** ***************

Monday's List of 13: Wrapping up an interesting weekend.........

                              13) May 8, 1968; the A's had just moved to Oakland; a young pitcher did the unthinkable. Not only did he throw a perfect game against a powerful Minnesota lineup, he knocked in three of the four runs the A's scored in their 4-0 win. It was the first of many great moments for Catfish Hunter.

                              12) May 9, 2010; a young lefty throws Oakland's second perfect game in franchise history, on Mother's Day/Cancer Awareness Day- the pitcher's mom had passed away from lymphoma.......on Mother's Day. With a DH in use now, you can make the argument this perfect game is better than the 1968 one, since pitchers batted in '68. Dallas Braden is 18-23 so far in his big league career. Catfish was 20-21 after his perfect game.

                              11) Weird that a good Rays' team has been victim to two perfect games in the last nine months, both by lefty pitchers in day games on the road.

                              10) Suns swept the Spurs in four tough games; by end of it, Steve Nash looked more like George Chuvalo, the old Canadian boxer, than a star in the NBA-- above his right eye was heavily bandaged, but the gutty Nash had 20 points, nine assists anyway.

                              9) Goran Dragic, Nash's backup, returned to normal Sunday after going nuts in fourth quarter of Game 3; Dragic wound up scoring a total of 36 points in the four-game series, but 23 of the 36 came in the fateful fourth quarter of Friday night's dramatic Phoenix win.

                              8) Rajon Rondo is 6-1, 175; he had 18 rebounds Sunday in Celtics' win vs the Cavaliers. Every aspiring high school guard should watch Rondo for how to do the little things that help teams win. How does a 6-1 guy get so many rebounds? He tries harder than everyone else, he knows angles of how missed shots come off rim. Smarter and tougher often trumps size.

                              7) Giants have fewest home runs in big leagues since Barry Bonds retired.

                              6) Looks like Indians made a quality trade, getting P Mitch Talbot from the Rays for backup catcher Kelly Shoppach. Talbot is helping the Tribe.

                              5) Anyone have an idea why the White Sox traded pitcher Gio Gonzalez not once, but twice? He's really been pitching well for the A's.

                              4) ESPN.com has a fantasy sports expert named Matthew Berry, who is a good writer-- his mom just got elected mayor of College Station, TX.

                              3) CJ Wilson of the Rangers is 3-1, 1.51 so far for Texas, with a couple of complete games in his six starts. Not bad for a former closer.

                              2) 40 years ago today, May 10, 1970, the Bruins beat St Louis in OT and swept the Stanley Cup finals from the Blues, giving Boston in first Cup in 40 years. I was 10 years old; it was my first championship as a fan. In 1986, I met Bobby Orr at a minor league baseball game; after watching/ listening to so many Bruin games as a kid, it was like meeting royalty. I'm glad to report that he's a good guy. He was a god in Boston in the 70's.

                              1) All the drama that goes on in the modern world makes a guy cynical; my questions to Eldrick Woods would be this-- Would you have stopped playing if you were winning the tournament? And if he does indeed have a neck injury, did it happen when he ran his SUV into that tree in Florida?

                                Len's Top 5

Happy Monday everyone, here's my Top 5 for May 10, 2010 from Len Berman.

                                1. Quick Hits

Oakland pitcher Dallas Braden pitches a perfect game against Tampa Bay. He's the guy who got pissed when A-Rod ran across his mound.
Speaking of A-Rod, he hit career homer number 586 last night in the 9-3 loss to Boston. That ties him with Frank Robinson for 7th place all time.
South African Tim Clark won the Players Championship. His first tour victory.
Tiger Woods quits on the 7th hole with a neck injury. It could be a bulging disk.
The Phoenix Suns sweep away San Antonio 107-101 to reach the NBA Western Conference finals.

                                2. Bye Of The Tiger?

What's with Tiger Woods? How did he suffer this neck injury? Was it the wear and tear of golf? How about his top secret car accident last November? Maybe it was wild sex? Could it be he tripped over a "step" in rehab? Whatever it is, Superman now looks like a train wreck. It was a foregone conclusion that he'd break Jack Nicklaus' record for wins in majors. Not anymore.

                                3. Tase And Means

My lord what have we started? On the heels of a Phillies fan getting felled on the field by a Taser gun, a drunk golf fan got tasered for heckling Tiger Woods at Sawgrass. Wow, if every drunk fan got zapped for booing the home team, who would be left to buy beer at the concession stands?

                                4. Home Town News

Not that I'm sensitive, or anything, but how often have newspapers ripped sportscasters for "rooting for the home team?" That's OK, sportscasters should have a degree of objectivity. But this weekend one of my favorite newspapers, The New York Daily News, published an open letter urging LeBron James to come play basketball in New York. I'm guessing the Pulitzers don't have a category for Pom Pom Journalism, but I could be wrong.

                                5. Yellow Card

One of my pet peeves in soccer is that players act as if they're dead trying to get penalties called on their opponents. Then the "dead" player jumps up and says "I'm fine." Soccer referees have had enough of the fakers, so before games they warn the players to knock it off. The other day a Croatian soccer player fell to the turf and acted dead. He was immediately hit with a yellow card. Turns out he was really, really dead. A heart attack. Oops.

Happy Birthday: Sportscaster Chris Berman (no relation). 55.
                                Bonus Birthday: U2's Bono. 50.

Today in Sports: Bobby Orr goes flying through the air with the greatest of ease to score the Stanley Cup winning goal for the Boston Bruins. (God, was that really 40 years ago?) 1970.
Bonus Event: We're in the money. Only 3 horses race in the Kentucky Derby. 1905.
