If the ref didn't know, he probably figured the LAST thing he was going to do was call a foul on Dallas, in Dallas, giving the Nuggets a chance to tie it from the line with 1 or 2 seconds left. I think that is what really happened. If he had been told to look for it, the minute contact happens, the whistle blows.
thats what i think happened......the ref was probably trying to help the mavs by not callling the foul.........I dont think wright fouled him though, if you look at the replay, he reaches in and actually hits the ball....he should have just made it obvious and clear but wright is inexperienced and he just got burned by a savy vet...Melo kept playing foul or not

The ending was very exciting. If I had been on Denver 2nd half I would have laughed my ass off. Been on both sides of that coin before. Unfortunately I was not on the right one this time!

Reach in fouls are reach in fouls despite contact with the ball. If a guy goes up for a layup and I body check but get a piece of the ball, it's a foul. The refs blew it and they said they blew it, there's no argument or gray area here, they blew the fucking call. And the Mavs still suck for playing with their heads up their asses for the final ten minutes of the game......

When a coach uses the words "I assumed", that means he blew it too.

Oh by all means Carlisle sucks as a coach, but that doesn't mean they didn't blow this call. They blew it, clear as day, no gray area, the refs fucked this one up and cost the Mavs (not the game) THE SERIES!
