Does anyone even read the stories???

Manny tests positive for a non-steroidal drug that was on the banned list. Then he immediately waives his right to appeal. This is likely exactly the way he explains it. A mistake. I've long held the belief that Manny is not on steroids or has never taken roids. His numbers are impressive every year whether it's a contract year or not and we've never seen anything like a Bonds type body change to give us evidence otherwise. I think laying off the guy for saying it's automatically PED's would probably be a good idea. Let it play out some. Dont forget a lot of those things on those lists are on the list in order to make it easier to test for PED's.

Maybe he is young, but Dustin Pedroia, Tim Wakefield and Mike Lowell are the guys(at least on the Red Sox) that I would suspect the least of using steroids or drugs.

The first article I read didnt say much at all it was about 2 paragraphs, then I saw another one later on that said, this was prescribed to Manny by a Dr. for a medical reason, he took it and tested positive, but he says it was his responsibility and accepts blame, and said he has been advised to say no more

Wakefield is the only one of those I wouldn't suspect. Biggest shocker would be Cal Ripken

Why did he waive his right to appeal?

I think if you test positive for a non steroid on the ban substance list you get no appeal. I may be wrong on this maybe someome knows 4 sure

                  If his doctor gave him the p r e s c r i p t i o n for a 'medical condition', then why doesnt he appeal the suspension??

                  was the p r e s c r i p t i o n prescribed to 'enhance his performance' and this is why he is not appealling ??

Better question, why wouldn't he just check the damn list to see if it was on there? Is he retarded? Is it Zoloft? It's probably some antidepressant

By waiving your right to appeal it shows acceptance of your responsibility of what went into your body. Manny seems to have taken a pretty tight stance that what he took was his fault for not realizing what he put in his body was banned. I think it's much more stand up then what anyone else has done.

So if a guy has cancer and they give him radiation treatment and Radiation is banned by MLB, he will be suspended for 50 games if he tests positive for it??

I'm just saying that if a player has a legit medical case and they need a particular drug for treatment, they will have to stay away from it and not be properly treated because of the MLB list ??

I would assume that the player would have to go through some sort of prscreening for something like that. Then the League would probably investigate to find out if there are any alternate treatments that arent banned and then act accordingly. Though honestly if it was something between making a decision to save my life and getting banned from baseball I chose life personally.

What I want to know is whats the medical condition he had, what was the drug he took and were there alternative medicines or treatments he could have done that would have not gotten him suspended

Is MLB a baseball league or is it a treatment center of highly qualified doctors??

What I'm saying is, if a "doctor" gives a rich baseball patient a pre scription, he would probably check the drug list, or never work again. I'll guess the "doctor" is ARod's cousin.
