Strengths: He appears to be peaking at the right time and it is encouraging to see Todd Pletcher wheel him back this quickly after a strong performance in the Lexington. He worked smartly over the surface so it is possible he will take a big step forward in his first try on dirt. He will need to if he is going to make any kind of impact.
Weaknesses: Start with his pedigree. His 260 Tomlinson rating for the distance is a good indication he is going to have a hard time getting 1 1/4 miles. Sire had good speed but never won a race longer than six-furlongs. Dam placed once in three starts. Her sire, Hennessy, was a Grade 1 winner, but his best finish going long was a second in the 1 1/16-mile Breeders' Cup Juvenile. Deep closer will have a hard time working out a trip in a 20-horse field and the pace isn't likely going to collapse like it did in the Lexington. Career-best Beyer Speed Figure of 94 is pretty light compared with the logical contenders. No surprise to see Garrett Gomez head elsewhere.
Strategy: He has absolutely no speed, so expect to see him at the back of the pack early. His connections will be hoping for a serious duel to develop up front.
Value: He figures to be one of the longest prices in the race and it is hard to find any real value here. Longshots in the Derby have spiced up the exotics in the past, however, so consider using him on the bottom of the superfecta.

Sire: Chapel Royal was an extremely precocious juvenile. He made his debut at Belmont Park in May of his two-year-old season, winning off by over nine lengths. He would then win the Grade 3 Flash Stakes with a 99 Beyer, and the Grade 2 Sanford with a 100. Chapel Royal finished third in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile around one turn at Belmont Park, but never won past six furlongs in his short career.
Dam: Word o' Wisdom placed once in three career starts, finishing third going five furlongs in her career debut as a juvenile. She is a half-sister to several blacktype earners at a mile including Polonius, the winner of the Grade 3 Will Rogers Stakes on turf at Hollywood Park.
Advice's second dam, Word o' Ransom, was a multiple stakes-winning sprinter on the Maryland circuit. Word o' Ransom is a half-sister to Words of War, a five-time stakes-winner and dam of Grade 1 Del Mar Oaks heroine No Matter What, and multiple Grade 2 winner E Dubai.
Other notable names in the female family include Grade 3 winner Proponent, and Phalanx, the Belmont Stakes winner of 1947 that finished second in the Run for the Roses.
Outlook: Advice's pedigree is geared to shorter distances, and he was looking a bit fatigued in the final stages of the Lexington. A successful journey at 1 1/4 miles is unlikely, and he may be at his best over synthetic
