I don't use systems for baseball ... If I did , I'd have access to the very best, but I won't spend 30 - 40 hours a week capping baseball.
I do use systems for football ... my database has literally close to 1500 , team and league , and I do spend an obscene amount of time each week with them. Some go back to last season , others go as far back as 25 years. We win every year for one simple reason ... players and coaches all have 1 thing in common ... they are creatures of habit.
I know their habits , every single one of them.
I also rely very heavily on the Linesmaker's number for each game. He's the best capper in the world.
The Cincinnati/Houston game ... why is not Houston with Oswalt favored tonight ? He's got such a spell working against Cincy and yet TONIGHT he's a dog.
This tells me that tonight , Oswalt probably will run into trouble.
( Besides that , and most importantly , I have Cincy as a -160 fave )

Don't take this the wrong way, but that's kind of a ridiculous way to think about baseball. Obviously bullpens come into play as well especially when they are terrible (ex. NYY this year). However, most of the time each SP does at least 5 IPs, which is > 50% of the game. If the starter you bet on is doing good, he'll go 6, 7, 8, 9 innings....that is pretty important. If they go less than 5, that generally means they got knocked around and it just didn't work out. Obviously game end up 3-3 , etc after 7 and go to the pens for both teams, but to you "don't believe starting pitching matters" is not a good way to think.Originally posted by ryangene View Posti dont belive starting pitching matters people place too much on it, they dont last the whole game and its bullpens that should be "rated" daily as they have far more effect on the total gameO..H.........I..O!
