              Sunday's six-pack

-- Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton will be mobbed by Buffalo fans in late July, with Ralph Wilson, Bruce Smith voted in.

-- I'm unsure how they vote; how do you keep Cris Carter out, and put Dolphin lineman McDaniel in? Not a lot of measureables for offensive linemen- seems like a very political process.

-- Wednesday is biggest day of college football offseason, as Signing Day announces what schools inked what players to scholarships. ESPNU carries the event, starting at 10am.

-- If you go to the FBR Phoenix Open golf tournament Sunday and you wear Cardinal gear, you get in for free.

-- Lakers' Andrew Bynum sprained his knee last night; he got hurt against the Grizzlies last season, too.

-- I just realized that Kurt Warner is older than Mike Tomlin.

Sunday's List of 13: Wrapping up a college hoop Saturday.......

                13) Pat Knight proved he's not adopted when he went ballistic and got tossed from Texas Tech's home loss to Nebraska, after charging the officials twice. Some subpar police work by the Lubbock PD let Knight get back at the officials as he was being escorted off the court.

                12) A tough decison lies ahead for Texas Tech AD Gerald Myers, as it is increasingly apparent that Pat Knight is in over his head as a Big 12 head coach. You can't act like a jackass if you don't win big; the elder Knight's antics were tolerated because he won multiple titles.

                11) Georgia Tech upset Wake Forest for their first ACC win; Tech had lost three overtime games, so they were due for some breaks.

                10) Notre Dame, Wisconsin are both in serious freefalls, as Badgers lost sixth straight game, 66-63 at Northwestern, and Irish lost 93-80 at Pitt, after leading by six at the half. Pitt had only six turnovers.

                9) Frank Martin has the glare of a serial killer, but he's doing a terrific coaching job at Kansas State; Wildcats won at Texas in OT, their 3rd win in row; Clemente kid had 44 points, making 6-6 from the arc.

                8) South Carolina's Darrin Horn is proving to be the best of the new hires in college hoop; Gamecocks won at Kentucky as experienced, if not steady guards Downey/Frederick both scored over 20 points.

                7) Elon posted biggest second-biggest upset of the day, winning at Charleston as a dog of 13.5 points; Cougars were just 2-22 from the arc.........St Peter's (+14) won 67-64 at Iona, for the biggest upset.

                6) As bad as Charleston's shooting was, they looked like a bunch of Reggie Millers next to UL-Lafayette, which lost 74-68, giving Florida Atlantic its first Sun Belt win. Cajuns were 2-38 from the arc, yes in 38 attempts from behind the arc, they missed freakin' 36 times.

                5) Morehead State is now 9-2 in OVC after drilling Austin Peay by 18 Saturday; Eagles have only one senior on their squad.

                4) Marquette outscored Georgetown 30-8 from foul line, in a 94-82 win at Bradley Center, Hoyas' sixth loss in eight games. Georgetown shot 56% from floor and still lost by 12.

                3) St Mary's lost 84-66 at vastly improved Portland in Gaels' first game without star Patty Mills, who broke his hand Thursday.

                2) My buddy is a small-college coach; his best player is going to the Super Bowl, and won't get back to the campus in time for classes or practice Monday, which means he has to sit out the first half of the game on Tuesday, a pretty big game. Coaches don't have issues like this in the bigtime-- can you imagine telling Bob Huggins you won't be around for a couple days because you're going to the Super Bowl?

Non-scholarship players may pay to go to school but they also keep most of their freedom, which the D-I kids have very little of.

                1) Oregon State was 0-18 in Pac-10 last year, now they're 4-5, with basically the same players. Craig Robinson can clear a space at home for his 2009 Pac-10 Coach of the Year trophy.
