Guys my buddy who follows UFC regularly says Penn isnt taking fight seriously has not been training hard disobeying trainers commands and hanging out at the beach or some shit..

chad don't buy into that at all, as the others said he is taking it seriously, the question is just how serious. No question these two are 2 of the most gifted in MMA. I do like GSP but i don't think it's easy.

Anyone got any ideas on the Lauzon Fight coming up? I just saw that his opponent suffered a training injury. Will Stephens even have a shot against Joe?

Personally I dont know squat about Stephens. I would have to take some time to check him out but if anyone keeps an ear out for these lesser fights lemme know.

I used to live out in Utah where they have their own professional MMA league. It's no where near as awesome as UFC or even WEC but it got me interested in the sport and I've been following it ever since.

great stuff pk. i'm not going to set up a league or anything because we really only have a select group on here, i figured i can just start a thread for every event labeled fantasy MMA and we can all make our picks in that thread and keep running records.

If it devolops enough maybe we can take it to the next level but for now, just make predictions.

He is taking this fight serious. My teammates was on the Big Island When BJ went to Kona. He was doing cardio over there and training at another Gym. Randy's team was up there to help BJ train for this fight.
Don't get me wrong, GSP is Awesome,I hope BJ takes this to the ground and then he has a chance.

yes pk i have an example i believe on the first page of the thread.

we pick the winner, the round, and yes by way of win, you can pick any kind of finish, KO TKO, SUB, UD, SPLIT, and even DQ. ( 2 people picked barnett by DQ given yvel's past at affliction)

3 points for the fight winner
2 points for the round
2 points for the finish

*** if you hit the fighter in the round and the finsh you get an extra 2 points, that is how the one i'm in now is set up.

like for ex. i had babalu by 2nd round sub so i got a full 9 points.

then i had fedor 1st round sub. well fedor won and in the 1st but not by sub so i got 5 points for the fedor pick

stephens is a very good wrestler out of iowa, iowa st i believe. He really likes to stand and bang though, check out his last fight i had him and he lost the first 2 rounds and won witha wild KO just swinging for the fences, that's jeremy little heathen stephens, now i myself am in fla. so i know all about franca, he is actually one of the first pro guys i met that was really cool to me. lauzon should win, but stephens is all heart so he won't tap or give up, he did look gassed last fight but he was getting worked for 2 rounds and still delivered a KO. lauzon is a step up in competition for him i think.
