I don't know who is advising Bradford but it has to be an idiot. Didn't he see what happened to Matt Linhart when he made the decision to return to USC. If he would have come out that year he would have gotten the same contract Alex Smith got. Innstead he stayed at USC to party, fell to pick # 10 which cost him millions and millions of guaranteed money. If he came out this year I heard Bradford would definitely be a top 10 pick, maybe even #1. Who knows where he will go next year. OU will have a whole new OL in front of him. Hard to believe he will put up the same numbers and have the same season that he had this year. And of course there is always the injury risk. As a big college football fan I love seeing him, Tebow and McCoy all coming back, but nevertheless I think Bradford is nuts.
I think this kid really had it going for the pros, however, his teammates stepped up and then he decided to give it another try. Latest rankings showed USC in the second spot but that will change now that Bradford is coming bac. Texas and OK should be hugh this year, what a game that will be. Tebow, will be waiting for the winner. At least that is the preliminary thought.
I, know it is presumptive, but there are many who do not want to see another BCS Championship Game with the same 2 teams. Defense wins so these two are the strongest at this point. Not to mention, the offenses getting stronger. McCoy is back= sheesh! Should be interesting!
I heard an interesting stat about the avg contract amounts between those drafted in the top 1/2 of the 1st round and those chosen in the bottom 1/2 of the first round in 2007. It was a striking difference...top half average was like 16 mil and the bottom half average was something like 3 or 4 mil. I may have the numbers wrong but it was a huge difference.
Bradford must have gotten some info that led him to believe he wouldn't be in the top 10. I don't know. He's 6'6" and 215 lbs and people are telling him he really needs to be 230. That's pretty strange talking about a QB that's 6'6 and 215 lbs but needs to be bigger. I really think he decided it's better for him to stay.
I was surprised but happy. The one I think made a mistake is Jermaine Gresham. He was probably the OU stud who was most ready for the NFL and most unlikely to improve his draft status for next year. again...I'm not bitching, just bewildered.
