  • 'UNITS' - it doesn't mean shit

ANYBODY can show that they're up a ton of 'UNITS'.

    today i bet 10* = 10 units (if lose)
    tomorrow i bet 20* = 20 units (if lose)
next day i bet 50* = 50 units (if WIN)
    suddenly after 2 straight losing days i'm UP +17* = +17 units

ANYBODY (if you raise & chase) long enough can be UP units.
Not knocking that, it actually works if you have the bank and discipline to do it.

What i AM knocking, is these clowns that try to come off as gambling gods.
It's laughable to say the least, i don't care if you're up 1000 units, it means nothing.

I beg to differ and I'll explain why.

After hanging out at the local park with some friends and finishing off a 30 pack of Keystone Ice, I stumbled back home to where I have a beautiful studio getup in my mothers basement. Since it was at night and I ran out of matches to light a candle so I could see, I fell down the basement stairs after tripping over a Possum. Next thing I remember was when I woke up in the hospital. I asked the doctor if everything was alright and he told me I lost some blood and they had to give me 4 Units of new blood. So yes, Units do matter

true that frito! Especially when they dont explain what percent one unit of their bankroll is. For me 1 unit=6%, so I only wager from .6-2.5 units per game. If I am up 15 units I have almost doubled my bankroll . I see guys wagering 10 units per game...dont know what this even means.

I agree, I dont follow anyone who does units. Now if they grade their plays as small, medium, top etc.... thats one thing, but to keep escalating units to get into the positive is retarded. People dont have that type of cash to risk.

Follow Spark, that cat plays the same on everything. He wont get you chasing and he wont bury you.

Coverboy, he has small regular and top plays, if you are a small player bet 50 on small, 100 on regular and 150-200 on top or linesmaker games. Or for that matter just play his Top and linesmakers games.

Those are a couple of guys that i look at when i make a bet, but dont escalate a wager based on some newbie clown looking for attention because he has a flashy title to his thread. Thats a good way to get down real quick. JMO

I disagree - I actually play "units" on everygame depending on how I feel about it. One unit for me is $50 - normal game is 1 unit and I rank them higher if I like the game. It doesn't matter how you show it (low/med/high or 7/8/9/10) you can always show yourself doing better than you really are if you chase high and win.

Ok with that logic do you employee 20 unit wagers or 50 unit wagers?

Your logic is fine, but IMO not fine if you go to 20 units or more.

If you are like a 1-4 unit player i can agree, my problem is these whack jobs that start at 5 and go to 50.

I'm with JC and it's the ones like yours we don't have a problem with but the 20,40,50.... I like the ones who are having a bad day and they upgrade units on games on post#47 of the thread just to try to get the number back near even.I'm sure there not calling there bookie and adding $500 to the bet they made erlier in the day.Just my opinion.

I agree with most of the original post, but it really has nothing to do with "units" You can do that with anything to make yourself appear to be doing better. It doesn't matter how you "rank" your plays. You can rank them 1-10...20...50...100 or smalll/med/large, biggie, mortgage killer , etc.... and continue to make them higher plays to help make your combined results look better.
