      Ice Picks: NHL Bets
      -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Detroit Red Wings at Dallas Stars (170, 5.5)

The Detroit Red Wings' offensive philosophy is simple: Shoot, shoot, shoot and shoot some more.

They peppered Buffalo Sabres goaltender Ryan Miller with 48 shots for a 3-1 win Saturday and have totaled 240 shot during their six-game winning streak.

"We were hoping to wear (Miller) down. We thought if we stayed at their net, we'd get our opportunities," coach Mike Babcock told reporters after Saturday's win. "He made some great saves early, but we stayed patient and were able to get the win."

Detroit put 33 shots on goal the last time it faced Dallas, winning 6-1 at Joe Louis Arena January 8. Fifteen of those shots came in the third period and overwhelmed Stars goalie Marty Turco. He's coming off 28 shots in a 1-0 shootout loss to the Phoenix Coyotes Saturday.

Turco is winless in 10 starts in Detroit and has a bleak 3-11-5 career record against the Red Wings.

      Pick: Detroit -180

Tampa Bay Lightning at Los Angeles Kings (-137, 5.5)

The Bolts west coast trip continues after picking up their second win of the swing against Anaheim Friday night. Tampa Bay scored four goals on just 19 shots, taking advantage of a poor outing from Ducks backup goaltender Jonas Hiller.

The Lightning can exploit another stumbling reserve goalie when they take on Jonathan Quick and the Kings. Although showing promise in his first month in the pros, Quick has gotten sloppy in the past two games and has allowed eight goals including five to New Jersey Saturday.

Head coach Rick Tocchet took a shot at his team earlier in the trip and it appeared to spark them Friday night. Winger Martin St. Louis is leading the offense by example. He scored a goal and picked up two assists against Anaheim, giving him 23 points in his past 18 games.

      Pick: Tampa Bay +127

Toronto Raptors at Boston Celtics [7:30 PM ET]

Raptors: Toronto will be playing short-handed in the second game of this home-and-home series with the Celtics, as Jermaine O'Neal and Jose Calderon will not make the trip to Boston due to injuries. Calderon played for the first time in four games in Sunday's loss but totaled just six points in 22 minutes. “It was a little bit sore after the game,” Calderon said of his injured hamstring. “I’m going to stay here and get treatment. It felt pretty good when I was on the court, so we’ll keep working on it.”

Raptors are 2-7 ATS in the last 9 meetings.
The UNDER is 7-3 in Toronto's last 10 games vs. Atlantic Division.

Key Injuries - F Jermaine O'Neal (knee) is OUT.
G Jose Calderon (hamstring) is OUT.

                    PROJECTED SCORE: 88

Celtics (-11, O/U 187): Boston will be trying to win consecutive games for the first time since December 23rd after Ray Allen scored a season-high 36 points in a 94-88 win at Toronto on Sunday. Allen hit eight 3-pointers as the Celtics held on to get the win despite seeing a 20-point lead cut to five with 1:36 left. “There’s no relief,” Boston head coach Doc Rivers said. “We could have played better and we know that. There was more good than bad by far but we want more good all the time.” Boston hopes to have leading scorer Paul Pierce available after he injured his right knee in the first quarter but later returned.

Celtics are 9-2 ATS in their last 11 home games.
The UNDER is 8-2 in Boston's last 10 games overall.

Key Injuries - G Tony Allen (ankle) has returned.
F Paul Pierce (knee) is questionable.
C Kendrick Perkins (shoulder) is day-to-day.

#13 Notre Dame at #21 Louisville [ESPN | 7 PM ET]

Notre Dame: The Fighting Irish have lost in each of their last five trips to Louisville and are not nearly the same team away from home. They have dropped three of their last four away from home overall, shooting just 37 percent from the field during that stretch. Notre Dame also has another tough road games at Syracuse on Saturday following this meeting with the Cardinals. “We have two road games ahead against top teams,” Notre Dame guard Kyle McAlarney said. “It’s going to be a battle for us, game in and game out, but we just need to take it one game at a time.”

Notre Dame is 3-0 ATS in the last 3 meetings.
The OVER is 20-7 in Notre Dame's last 27 games vs. Big East.

Louisville (-6.5, O/U 146): The Cardinals have put together a three-game winning streak after losing two of three, getting off to a 2-0 start in Big East play to begin conference play with victories at South Florida and Villanova. “I’ve looked forward to this year more than any other,” Louisville head coach Rick Pitino said. “You’ll never see 12, 13 teams as tough as this. It’s special, I’ll tell you that.” The Cardinals went 8-1 SU vs. league foes at home last season and will play five of their next seven games at Freedom Hall.

Louisville is 26-7-2 ATS in its last 35 games vs. Big East.
The UNDER is 17-6-1 in Louisville's last 24 home games.

Key Injuries - F George Goode (shin) is questionable.

PROJECTED SCORE: 78 (Side Play of the Day)

#7 Texas at #6 Oklahoma [ESPN | 9 PM ET]

Texas: The Longhorns are hoping that leading scorer A.J. Abrams can snap out of his shooting slump against Oklahoma. Abrams has been limited to single digits in four of his last five games for Texas, shooting just 28.8 percent from the field during that stretch. He averaged almost 15 points per game against the Sooners last year in helping the Longhorns win all three meetings.“It’s going to be great - it is what you play college ball for these types of games,” Texas forward Damion James said. “Oklahoma maybe has the best player in the country with Blake Griffin. It’s going to be a great crowd, it’s going to be so much fun.”

Texas is 23-8 ATS in its last 31 Monday games.
The UNDER is 21-8-1 in Texas' last 30 Monday games.

Key Injuries - F Alexis Wangmene (knee) is OUT.

PROJECTED SCORE: 64 (UNDER - Total Play of the Day)

Oklahoma (-4.5, O/U 138.5): The Sooners have lost the last six meetings with the Longhorns by an average of nearly 17 points. So what could be the difference this time around? Well, Texas and Oklahoma are both ranked in the Top 25 for the first time since March of 2006. The last win in the series for the Sooners came in January of 2006. In addition, Oklahoma leads the Big 12 in defensive field-goal percentage, holding opponents to 37.7 percent shooting. “At times it should be questioned because we haven’t played great on defense at times, but I wouldn’t say that we are a poor defensive team,” Sooners forward Blake Griffin said. “We are going to have to prove that to people and that is fine.”

Oklahoma is 8-18 ATS in its last 26 games vs. Big 12.
The UNDER is 8-0 in Oklahoma's last 8 games vs. Big 12.
